Fourth Fridays Raffle is back, and this month’s prizes are giving full elegant‑mischief energy.

First place: a Dragon’s Blood Scepter with a stand — an eye‑catching crystal tower ready to elevate any shelf it lands on.
Second place: a live cactus, adding a touch of desert sophistication with absolutely zero drama.
Third place: a crystal grab bag, because mystery is always stylish.
Fourth place: a $10 book gift certificate for a perfectly classy little escape.

Tickets are $2 each, 3 for $5, or 15 for $20. Cash or card, in person only at Cat Tales Bookstore.

The new moth & butterfly pins have officially landed… and they’re already threatening to fly off before you get here.
They’re $3 each, bright, bold, and absolutely convinced they belong on your favorite bag or jacket.

And yes — Bookworm Surprise Bags are restocked and looking smug about it.
They’re $20 each, packed with bookish treats, and still enforcing their strict “no peeking” policy like tiny fabric bouncers.

If you want first pick, come in soon. The pins are fluttery, the bags are mysterious, and both are ready to go home with someone who appreciates a little whimsy.

Finley’s Picks of the Week

Finley is keeping things mellow and heart‑soft this week, and he’s doing it in honor of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library—a program he considers “top‑tier reading goodness.” He says Dolly believes every child deserves beautiful stories, and he would like it known that he agrees wholeheartedly… especially when those stories come with illustrations he can stare at dramatically.

Here are his gentle, sweet, Dolly‑approved selections:

Milo’s Hat Trick
Finley admires Milo’s determination and the delightful hat‑magic at play. He would like it noted that if he had a hat, he could also perform impressive tricks. Mostly disappearing acts. Mostly into a sunbeam.

Just Like My Brother
A warm, tender story about admiration and growing up. Finley says it reminds him of how he “looks up to Falkor,” though he refuses to clarify whether this is emotional admiration or simply because Falkor is taller.

Donut: The Unicorn Who Wants to Fly
Finley chose this one because Donut’s optimism speaks to him. He insists that if a unicorn can chase her dream of flying, he can chase his dream of becoming the store’s official “Supervisor of All Soft Things.” No one is sure what that job entails, but he seems confident.

Tad and Dad
A cozy, funny little story about sticking close. Finley says it’s relatable because he, too, enjoys being extremely helpful by sitting directly on whatever you’re trying to read. He calls this book “a perfect cuddle‑up read,” which feels suspiciously self‑promotional.

Finley hopes these Imagination Library picks bring you a quiet moment and a warm smile. He’ll be laying somewhere working very hard—most likely stretched out in a perfect sunbeam, supervising the day with great dedication.

Congratulations to our Fourth Fridays Raffle winners from last night — apparently it was a “the boys have spoken” kind of evening.

First place: Seth
Second place: Ed
Third place: Ed again, because he clearly wasn’t finished.
Fourth place: Seth, returning to close out the show.

Some nights the fates look at the ticket jar, shrug, and decide it’s double trouble all the way down. Seth and Ed seemed to have a private agreement with the raffle gods, and honestly, we’re not questioning it.

Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and supported Midwest Pet Refuge. Even when the universe is running its own comedy routine, your support makes a real impact.
