Join us for the co-release of ⛩️ Mon 門 ⛩️ our newest fragrance made with Omani frankincense, alongside a companion cassette by Joshua Limanjaya of TOKO TAPE , created to be experienced together as scent and sound. The release party is free and open to all from 4-6p, followed by a ticketed listening session from 6-7:30p.
Frankincense was our gateway drug into making and learning about incense. In honor of this personal fragrant portal, we offer you Mon 門 (meaning gateway in Japanese) that uses Omani frankincense from the rocky landscapes of the southern region of Dhofar. Mon is in celebration of the gateways that encourage our curiosity, challenge our creativity, and introduce us to the white rabbits that expand our realities and remind us how little we know and how much there is still to learn.
We invited our dear friend Joshua Limanjaya (DJ, producer, and head of the TOKO TAPE label) to create a companion tape inspired by his own sound gateways. Drawing from his Indonesian roots, Joshua pieces together the deep, percussive grooves of various gamelan records to create a special vinyl mix, specifically meant to be enjoyed alongside Mon 門. Join us for the ticketed listening session (6-7:30pm) to hear the stories and choices behind his music selection. There is limited space for this portion of the evening.
