✨We’re gearing up for NFA and we can’t wait for you to test out the newest addition to the McChord headjoint line! We’ve had a lot of inquiries over the years about when we will start making custom alto flute headjoints and we’re proud to say that the day has finally arrived! ✨This beautiful stunner is headed home after a COA and a couple of key extension modifications! After having some difficulty reaching the C1 and G keys comfortably, our client elected to have extensions added to both keys. The C1 extension elevates the contact point for this key, making it easier to reach and at a more comfortable height. This extension can be shifted in any direction or removed entirely if needed. The G key extension lengthens the touch point for this key and is slanted down slightly so that our client can play with a more comfortable hand position. This extension can also be swiveled left or right for the optimal placement as well as removed entirely if needed. We love to help our clients play as comfortably as possible!✨

✨It may take more time, but here at McChord Flutes we make each headjoint by hand, one at a time. Not being mass produced in big batches lets us focus on each headjoint individually, which allows us to make each headjoint one we can be proud to send out into the world✨

✨Around 60% of the flutes that come to us for repair are Brannen flutes and that’s fine with us! They are always beautifully built with such care and attention to detail. Recently we spent a few days in the Brannen factory in Woburn to get a closer look at the process and it was a wonderful experience getting to participate in the building of such a stunning instrument!✨
