We are thrilled to announce the merger of Cru & Domaine with Proof Wine & Spirits, moving forward together as La Bodega. La Bodega will be Oregon’s only curated wine shop to offer a vast selection of spirits. The goal of this merger is to leverage the unique strengths of both companies—Cru & Domaine’s expertise in fine wines and Proof Wine & Spirits’ extensive selection of spirits—to create a more diverse and comprehensive product offering. Our goal is to enhance the experience of our customers by providing a one-stop shop for all beverage needs, while also expanding our reach and market presence.

We would also like to share that our Cru & Domaine staff will be transitioning to the new La Bodega location. They are eager to continue providing the same exceptional service and expertise in both our wine and spirits selections, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service. La Bodega plans to host a variety of exciting events, including wine tastings, spirit sampling sessions, and educational workshops. We aim to engage our community and enhance the appreciation for both wine and spirits through these interactive experiences.

The merger is officially set to take place on March 1st 2025. We are currently finalizing all the details to ensure a smooth transition. Leading up to the merger, we will keep our customers informed about any changes or updates. We appreciate your patience and support during this exciting time.

In the coming months, we will be introducing new branding and a remodel of the store, along with exclusive promotions and events. We are committed to maintaining the quality and service you expect from us, and we believe this merger will significantly enhance our ability to serve you. Please note that our Cru & Domaine location will close on December 31st. We look forward to welcoming you to La Bodega in the Proof Wine & Spirits space in Slabtown!

"Everything happens for a RIESLING" -

Bad pun of the week.....'Everything happens for a Riesling!' Riesling is hands down one of the least understood noble grapes in the world of wine. YES, it can make great sweet wines but for instance, in Germany alone, over 70% of Riesling is made in a dry style.  This weeks flight is highlighting...

This Week: Global Skin Contact Wines! -

Orange, Amber, Skin Contact, all terms for essentially the same winemaking technique - but as you can imagine there is a wide variety of flavor to be had! Aging the skins of the grape with the wine itself is nothing new, but its arguable the style has never been more in style. We've hand selected a....

Have you ever tried ?
They have been instrumental in showcasing the power and elegance (garnacha) can achieve when treated seriously. It may not be Rayas but truly memorable stuff nonetheless.

Having vintage depth is something we take very seriously here at

There are sensory details and nuanced flavors that only occur with extended bottle age, and it only takes one experience to change the way you look at wine forever.

The 1970 Cabernet Sauvignon is a treasure, the phrase “they don’t make them like they used to” applies to wines like these. Sourced from the cooler sub-AVA of Mt. Veeder these wines have elegance and freshness locked in for the long haul and this kind of vintage depth is rarely seen in the wild.

The 1970 Bodegas Riojannas is an equally historic wine hailing from Rioja,Spain. Devoutly traditional in their approach, their winemaker Felipe Nalda has been a legend in the Spanish wine scene and these wines are some of the more distinctive wines you can find.

Who’s got the 1970 birth year in your family?

Just a mere week away until the end of and the start of our first event of ‘24…OREGON UNCORKED (link in bio)

This is going to be a time capsule-like event with numerous vintage bottles and even some labels no longer in production! If that’s not all we got a pristine 5L of 30 year old Pinot noir we are stoked to pop and share with all attendees!

Only a few tickets left so don’t wish ya did, do. Cheers!

This week’s flight: introducing

It’s not every week we do a full breakdown of one particular producer, but when we do you know it’s for good reason. Cue Lassak wines—Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) meticulously farmed upon the steep shell limestone slopes of Württemberg, Germany. Although the winery has only existed in this iteration since 2016, Stefanie and Fabian Lassak have already been named among the 25 German winemakers to watch by Vinum. Elegant, precise, and highly drinkable these wines should pique your interest in this lesser-known German growing region. Here’s the line-up:

🍇 2020 Weingut Lassak Riesling, Württemberg, Germany
Riesling is now the most planted grape in Württemberg, as producers have begun to recognize the region’s world-class growing conditions. Lassak’s 2020 bottling is made from 30-45-year-old vines, pressed whole-cluster, and aged 16 months of full lees, resulting in an electric Riesling full of tension.

🍇 2020 Weingut Lassak Lemberger, Württemberg, Germany
Lemberger is Württemberg’s local term for Blaufränkisch, a wine that’s seen a serious uptick in quality in the region over the past decade. The 2020 Lassak Lemberger is indicative of this upward swing. The grapes are rooted in pure limestone, with vines ranging from 5-60 years. Aged in barrels for 16 months, the wine is bright with red berries and refreshing acidity.

🍇 2020 Weingut Lassak Spätburgunder, Württemberg, Germany
Don’t sleep on Spätburgunder, aka Germany’s Pinot Noir! This bottling was pressed 50% whole cluster from various Burgundy clones and aged in a neutral Burgundy barrel. Bottled unfiltered, it’s tart cherry and tons of herbaceous notes.

🍇 2020 Weingut Lassak ‘Hessigheim’ Riesling, Württemberg, Germany (Premium Pour)
The terraced slopes of Hessigheim mark the birthplace of Stefanie and Fabian’s project. This single-vineyard wine is grown on shell limestone, hand-harvested, and basket-pressed—as all of their single-vineyard wines are. The bottling, from 55-year-old wines, is focused and intense, with notes of ginger and dried hay.
