Is it time for another announcement, I think so…but this one is a bit different.

A few years back Shadowfoil was started by Sam, someone who is pure class, has deep roots in the community and an amazing person with integrity. Before starting Shadowfoil, he designed dozens of sabers for other companies, so many chassis, coins, and many other props. So, when he turned the work he was doing for other folks into a company, Shadowfoil was born.

Sam has designed more items within our community than I can count. And from the day he created Shadowfoil he built a very strong portfolio of sabers under our name. Many of the replica props he has designed are the best for their respective prop. And over the last few years many great things have come from the company.

So what’s new? Well, as of April 1st, Shadowfoil Props has had new owners. My wife and I, Lauren and Justin Altizer (aka LoloPadawan), bought the company from the partnership formed by Sam and Dan. Announcement is a little delayed ha, I know, but it's been a hell of a busy summer (bought a saber company, finished Law School, traveled to Australia, Canada, saw TS5 lol).

Many of you already know and have met me personally, and likewise some know my wife Lauren as well. Over the next few months we are planning time and opportunities for those who aren’t as familiar with us to get better acquainted. For now, I've shared a few family photos from recent events in our lives! (Scotland, British Columbia, TS5 lol, and Wales)

We are and will continue working hard behind the scenes and make great things as Shadowfoil always has. While this is a new experience for us we are well equipped to succeed and very excited to push forward.

Youngling Slayer update:

Recalling this issue, it impacts Run 2 and 3 with how the end caps (all 3 end caps included with the saber) fit into the lower half of the saber. Run 1 was very clean and sits flush as it should but due to some tolerance issues the end caps will not sit flush for Run 2 and 3.

After many attempts to find a simple solution we have hit a bit of a stalemate. Our shop has remade parts (lower half), refitted (lower half on Run 2 and Run 3), made more replacement parts (end caps) and tried to refit (Run 2 and Run 3), but we are left with no silver bullet solution. Essentially there are fitment issues with each attempted fix. For the solutions we do have there are some action items needed from the customer and we will discuss this in turn. So, what are the next steps?

First we want to handle the matter in the correct order. Please read so we can cut down on messaging and comment responses.

Order of outreach will look like this:

1. We will start reaching out to those who pre-ordered Run 3. This will happen by mailer and will happen very soon.

2. Reach out to those who pre-ordered Run 2.

3. Next we open it up to any Shadowfoil customers who ordered Run 3, and Run 2.

4. Depending on remaining inventory, we will begin to offer up to anyone owning a Youngling Slayer run 2, or Run 3. If you have purchased elsewhere or from the secondary market, we will help you determine which version you have at the time this option opens.

Pre-orders:
Fall-Winter 2024 was Run 2
Fall-Winter 2025 was Run 3

Happy 4th of July to all!

We take our everyday lives for granted at times, forgetting or not knowing how lucky some of us are to live in a place of relative freedom. We are very thankful for the freedom we have, thankful to all of those who have served and caught to provide and protect those freedoms.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend with friends and family and ask you to think of those who have made these freedoms possible.

Wanted to share our first new product in a while: we’ve designed a new PCB.

We are really excited about this! After having several chats and taking feedback from our friends in the community, (we incorporated all the feedback I think) and wasted no time updating our current offering, and also worked out a nice little trace design! The prototype looks excellent and we really dig the added brass tracing in the center.

*For anyone new to lightsabers, this board passes electricity and data to your lightsaber blade to make all the amazing and really cool effects we love!!

These will be hitting the store as soon as our new stock arrives!

Quick post and update:

1: Youngling Slayer: we have received the end caps and are evaluating their fit. Once the fit is fully determined, we will put a plan of action together and notify customers through your customer account (email) and work one by one. We again appreciate the patience as we worked with our shop to finalize the accurate fit and pieces, and work to get them out to all of you.

2. We will be processing orders more slowly for the next few weeks. We have fully moved the shop's location, but our next steps involve getting everything set up and organized. We are excited to get things back up and running smoothly.

3. We are going to be making quite a few announcements. in the next few weeks. We will be modifying how our shop operates and what we bring to the hobby.....we really couldn't be more excited. As for products, we have 5 products coming that we will also announce within the next couple of weeks. We are working with our shops to get these items finalized and ready to go.

We thank you all kindly for the support of the past and the support moving forward as we continue to build our shop's offerings and showcase what we can do to help build your collections!
