Happy Friday, y’all! We were busy bees yesterday…I know for a fact I’m going to have mixed emotions when this fantabulous Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt finds a new home. C 1940. A true work of art! 🌸❤️🌼 We’re loaded with lots of treasures, waiting for good homes. That painted jelly cupboard (door included), swoon! Come visit today. Space OOKE.

We added lots of goodies today to our space . Take a look at this Davenport Desk, or it’s sometimes called a captain’s desk. Wow! Please swipe. It’s an old one, hand crafted, and hand planed. All the drawers are numbered, so they’ll fit back into the right space. There are sooo many drawers! We’re thinking it’s made from walnut wood. It’s Spring, and that means Easter is coming. 🐣🌸✝️ We have an older, stamped Harry and David basket, filled with paper mache eggs from West Germany, with the cutest graphics. 🐣We had three, vintage glass bunnies with lids, and they sold right away. 🐇 Last, but certainly not least, we added quilts, vintage fabric, feedsacks (no reproductions here!), and lovely, vintage and antique linens. 🌼🌷🌸Remember!Tomorrow (8 am)is the start of the Home and Garden Show at Monticello Antiques. 🙌🏻 Stop by and prepare to be amazed! 👍👏👍

Friday restock! We love old washstands. They give a good amount of storage without taking up much floor space in a home. They look great, too! We have two in our own home. 🏠 This oak washstand’s towel bar has an antique “show towel” draped over it. Show towels were done to showcase a person’s needlework skills. One piece of fabric could show a variety of different stitches, and how well they could be executed. They are one of my favorite examples of antique needlework. Also new today is a funky pair of parrots. Each was made with different, colored chips of glass, like a mosaic. These are C1960, MCM. Funky and fun!

Restocked again! Swipe for today’s additions. More Christmas, including authentic, vintage ornaments, and some Christmas tree candles. We brought in a couple of pieces of antique stoneware, and when we can find some space in our booth, we’ll have lots of yellow ware bowls for sale. We recently found a real early, wooden children’s rocker. Very cool piece. Lastly, we’ve added more candlesticks to the candlestick table. 🕯Check them out! Spruced up the booth today. I just love, love, love this classic, Depression era quilt. It’s the Ocean Waves pattern, and it is large! It was made with lots of those fun, happy prints of the 1930’s. They are so cheery, and make me happy when I look at them…which is why it’s a bit more difficult than usual to let it go. It’s machine pieced and hand quilted, and was tucked away for nearly 100 years. It’s never been used! Follow us!

You’ve heard the saying, “Variety is the spice of life.” Is that true? 🤔🤔🤔 I do know variety makes for a great antiques space. Although we specialize in antique quilts and textiles, we always have a few pieces of furniture, and lots of smalls in our booth at Monticello Antiques, located at 8600 SE Stark St. in Portland, Oregon. Check out these new arrivals to our spot OOKE. Yesterday we brought in a lovely, antique, mahogany desk, and we recently added a washstand, and a vintage, wooden, sewing caddy. It opens up and holds lots of sewing notions. Great storage for a small space. Swipe for pictures!
