Freshly listed for sale on Bike ReCyclery, another pile of vintage Campy! This time its hubs, crank, pedals, a bunch of shifters, etc. Of note is the curious blue anodized Nuovo Record hub (are they mimicing the Campagnolo BMX hub?), some dirt cheap Record Superleggeri pedals, high fl**ge hubs, a clean NR/SR crank, a ton of shifters (Nuovo/Super Record of various formats, Gran Sport, bar end...)

Freshly listed for sale on Bike ReCyclery, John Marino's 1982 Mike Melton "Huffy" from the inaugural 1982 Great American Bike Race / Race Across America. LOC & signed provinance included! This is truly somethin special. Mike Melton used the aero aspects of this frame for Team USA in the 1984 Olympics!

John gave this bike to RAAM finisher and race staffer Chris Kostman of AdventureCORPS in 1989. Chris had the frame fully restored by CyclArt in the early 1990's and built the bike back up to John's exact specs (helpfully listed in the included 1982 Great American Bike Race Log!). According to Kostman about 50% of the parts are original to the bike when John rode it in 1982. It hasn't been ridden since the 1980's! In 2007 the bike was highlighted in Jan Heine's book "The Competition Bicycle," bringing it into the eyes of the mainstream bike world.

Just listed for sale on Bike ReCyclery! The rare Eddy Merckx Grand Prix was the flagship model in the US market from 1988 to 1990, though you almost never see them for sale. With its ultra thin 7/4/7 Reynolds 753 tubing it was the more supple, lighter version of Corsa Extra & its Italian team racing heritage and super stiff Columbus SLX. It was sold as a frameset only. This one is from the 1988/1989 model year, and comes in a luminous glittery metallic pearl white. The build is Campagnolo C-Record and their illustrious gem-encrusted Cobalto brakes, riding on Campy's top level rims (Sigma Strada Chromium). The frame was recently professionally restored by Tommy'O designs in Michigan.

Freshly listed for sale on BikeReCyclery, Bobby Root's personal M1 Spitzing signed by freaking Travis Pastrana and Ryan Williams! I acquired this from Bobby and I's mutual friend Bre Rue of HiFi Wheels fame, and confirmed with Bobby the signatures and ownership. There's even photos (attached) of Bobby riding it in the wild plus event pics from the 2016 Las Vegas Interbike (Ryan sitting on the bike, Bobby/Travis/Ryan posing with it, etc). For freeride and downhill fanatics and collectors, this is a holy grail once in a lifetime find!

There are five signatures in total. Bobby doesn't remember who the others were aside from Travis and Ryan. Travis's autograph is easily identified via his "199" for 199 " lives" after the signature. If you know who the others are, please contact me! .

Travis Pastrana

Freshly listed for sale at Bike ReCyclery, the 38th production frame David Lynskey ever built, and quite possibly the earliest Litespeed still accounted for! Litespeed's records show this frame number of #1038 as August of 1988 build, size 54, model "920", made for Jim Gayton (in photos). The head engineer at Litespeed who started in 1990 confirmed this as legit and the earliest frame number he's seen. He doesn't have any info on the models 920 and 917 referred to in the frame books. I acquired this from my friend Annika who wrote about it on her site Early-Titanium-Archive.

The first Litespeeds were referred to simply as "Litespeed Titanium". It was renamed the Litespeed Road in 1990 when the Litespeed MTB was released. It was reviewed in the May 1988 Bicycle Guide Magazine (Scans in pics), & was included in their "Best of 1988" issue.

The frame itself is quite interesting. It features "aero" top-mount downtube shifters via a unique vertical disc setup with Shimano flat mount plates. Cable routing is fully internal. The top tube is slightly forward sloping, though this one is quite a bit shallower than the 60cm frame in the Bicycle Guide. The welds are large and unfinished. Dropouts are 6/4 ti & feature dual lightening holes. Original Vitus 979 alloy fork.
