Water those lawns! While mowing I have seen many yards with cracks in them. Its cheaper to water your lawn! Tearing up a yard, leveling it up, dumping old grass, sod installation and final steps are super expensive! Last time I heard a small yard sod installation was done for 6k. Ground was not even leveled by contractor. He didn't even do everything I mentioned yet charged that crazy high. Ppl, water those lawns! Take care of them because again, everything has gone up on prices. Getting a lawn fungus because of not watering will damage your lawn as well. Don't wait on rain because there are no signs of rain soon. You don't have to water everyday or for too long. Just enough to give it a drink of water and stay healthy enough till a good rain arrives. Water at least twice per week for now. Take my advice or you will learn the hard way.

Renting a skid steer to tear up and level ground cost $250+tax/day. Renting a dump trailer costs $75 or more per day. 1 pallet of sod can cost $250 or more. Which most of the time you will need no less than 3 pallets. Labor alone can be very expensive. Sod maintenance throughout the year will be expensive as well.

Water those lawns!!!

Lawn equipment parts are getting expensive! Most of the stuff was cheap but everything has doubled or more in prices. Last week my zero turns throttle lever broke so I had to buy a new one. After taxes, shipping and handling it came out to $85. That doesn't include paying my mechanic to put it on. Business expenses and taxes are crazy high right now. Our lawn trailer will be getting new tires put on this weekend as well. Business expenses never stop! My zero turn also needs an oil change so I have to buy the oil kit plus pay my mechanic. Also got to buy new front tires for it.

Thinking of opening up a business? Its expensive so be ready to spend because each week you will spend a lot to stay open. Expenses add up!

There's are certain reasons why we are only working half a day right now. One of them being is that lawns should not be mowed on extremely hot temperatures. Mowing during hot temperatures can stress a lawn out. Temperatures cold or hot do play a factor of our mowing schedule. There is a certain cold and hot temperature I do not mow on. Again, when hiring us, you are hiring an expert landscaper.

Here's a homemade strawberry and chocolate cake my wife just made. She might bake some more cakes this weekend. If you are wanting a cake, let us know. I made a post couple days ago on everything she makes. I want her to open up her own business. Please give her the support she needs to finally start it up 🙏

She can make a big pan or a small one like the chocolate cake. These cakes are homemade!

Everything she makes is very delicious! I know because I am used as the lab rat and am fat and I love cake 😆

Today another GPISD teacher on our schedule received a free mow as part of back to school special. The last free mow we did. We are glad to have several teachers and staff on our schedule. She also gets a free drink from NorthShore Nutrition from us.

Clients, mowing visits will start slowing down. I might move some of you to every 3 weeks or once a month. We need rain! I do not want to stress your lawn too much. I do advise you to water your lawn at least twice per week for no more than 30 minutes to avoid a lawn fungus not only from this heat but from over watering. A lawn fungus is not easy to get rid of. If your yard seems any color than green, let me know I can give you info on how to fix it. Weekly mowing will come to a stop. Bi-weekly may still continue with some yards.

Even though I might move you to once a month, I will still msg you bi-weekly just in case. Keep in mind to not let the sidewalks, driveways or patio edging or weedeating get overgrown. Its not the mowing that's difficult, its everything else. Thats why I still keep every yard once a set schedule all year long unless we can skip. Please respect my time and equipment and that we are a legit registered family owned business.
