During my round yesterday, I got the call that my old man is now playing on heavenly fairways. There is no better place for me to be than on the golf course doing what we loved together. When I first started playing golf, he told me how excited he was that I was playing the game. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it quickly became clear how much it meant to have someone to share this passion with. I remember being just 3 years old, watching him chip balls in his front yard, yet it took us 34 years to play our first round together. Now that he’s gone, the phrase “better late than never” has never felt so true. Play well up there, Granddaddy. ☁️🏌️🏾‍♂️⛳️☁️

Meet Jackie Gray. is a visionary entrepreneur and former U.S. Army veteran who leads Succor Global, LLC, a Portland-based executive protection and security firm dedicated to the principle “Defendi Inermes”—to defend the unarmed. With degrees in marketing and psychology from Portland State University and linguistic training from the Defense Language Institute, Jackie brings empathy and strategic insight to his leadership. Meet Stephen Green. is a Portland-based entrepreneur and economist, best known for founding Pitch Black, a platform that supports Black and Latinx entrepreneurs through pitch competitions and non-dilutive grants. Since 2015, Pitch Black has empowered over 120 founders, awarding more than $280,000 in funding and helping businesses raise over $200 million collectively. His energetic, community-focused events, like “Da Gathering”, blend celebration and storytelling.

In addition to Pitch Black, Stephen is the Executive Director of Business for a Better Portland, aiding over 400 member businesses, and he chairs Built Oregon, a nonprofit supporting BIPOC-led consumer product entrepreneurs.
