Growing up in the woods of Oregon taught me the natural beauty of this area. I graduated from OSU ’12 and began working in my dream job as a residential interior designer. Two years ago, suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder, I decided to try an alternative therapy and teach myself to crochet. I wanted a new hobby & I craved learning something challenging that would distract me from my winter
time blues. I never knew the world of fiber art was so vast nor that it would become such a passion. After 2 years of experimenting, I aspired to turn this hobby into a real business. I’ve always envied those entrepreneurs who took a chance on a dream and started their own companies. I founded Crochet Cascade because I wanted to share my creations with the world and make it a self-sustaining endeavor. More importantly, I wanted to help spread the love for our majestic natural beauty in the Pacific North West. Each piece is named after a beautiful landmark as well as 10% of all proceeds will go to maintaining & protecting our state parks. If you would like to know more about donating yourself, please visit Oregon state parks foundation web page. When you purchase from Crochet Cascade, you can expect to receive 100% homemade, high- quality creations, fast & reliable shipping and 10% of your proceeds going to support Oregon state parks. CC’s business goals are to create unique & comforting accessories that depict PNW fashion. From hiking the Pacific Crest trail to going out to dinner with friends, these accessories are always in style. I’d also like to expand Crochet Cascade’s future product line and create new accessories for all seasons. Future product ideas:
o Summer crop tops, bikinis & accessories
o Expand winter collection: include scarves, stockings & mittens
o Wall art, dream catchers & mandala rugs
o Start baby brand: personalized blankets, “Mommy & Me” hats
o TO expand my technical skills with weaving & macramé classes
o Offer in person/online classes about crochet & knitting
