Browsers' Bookstore is a secondhand bookstore that reminds me why brick-and-mortar shops and independent bookstores are vital to our communities.
When you bring books in to trade at Browsers Abe still hand writes your credit on a little card. The shop isn’t exactly organized, which is part of the charm. There’s no updated computer catalog so you ask Abe if he has a particular book, and he will just know. He’ll wander off and come back with it —if he has it.
It’s the kind of place you can pop into when you’re feeling lonely, hunting for book treasures, need to get out of the house, or need an adventure and somehow leave feeling more connected.
With our focus on academic style this month, I wanted to give Browsers & Abe another shout-out! We featured his shop on our blog a few years ago. đź”— in profile.
