It's time to announce our Portland Book Week Raffle and Romancing Portland giveaway winners!!

With over 800 submissions for this year's BINGO prizes, we decided to bring back the wheel as a digital spin to win 🎡

Congratulations to our winners!! Check your emails with instructions on how and when to pick up your raffle prizes.

Today is the last day you can collect stamps on your BINGO card.

✨Reminder: Most bookstores that are exhibiting at the Rose City Book & Paper Fair are NOT stamping for things like “genre specific bookstore” - you should expect that the only stamp you will receive at the Rose City Book & Paper Fair to be the top left corner of your BINGO card, claiming your visit to the event. It’s best to collect your other stamps from the bookstore’s primary locations!

You can show your BINGO board at the Rose City Book & Paper Fair as your ticket for FREE entry to the event.

✨ Once you are done, bring your completed BINGO tags to any participating bookstore OR Email a scanned/photo version of your completed BINGO board to [email protected]

Deadline for submitting your entries is Friday, June 19th!

Which bookstores may or may not be haunted?

Is there a list of haunted bookstores?

Not officially! We are letting the bookshops choose if they want to claim that stamp - so it might be worth checking some of their social media or asking the booksellers as you complete your shop crawl.

Though we bet a horror media store, the used bookstores, stores in very old buildings, or shops with very cavernous spaces might be a good way to start!

Easily the most fan favorite BINGO block is the one that encourages you to visit indie bookstore cats.

This year we expanded that square and want you to visit a bookstore with a shop cat OR one that allows dogs to visit 🐱🐶

So, what do you do with that BINGO card at the end of Portland Book Week?

You might have seen us mention these rules when we announced BINGO, or maybe even when we shared a preview of the raffle!

Each completed BINGO tag equals one entry for raffle prizes for a total of three entries.

Drop off your completed BINGO tags to any participating bookstore

⭐️ OR ⭐️

Email a scanned/photo version of your completed BINGOs to [email protected] no later than Friday, June 19th.

Once we have picked up all entries from participating stores, raffle winners will be drawn randomly and announced on Wednesday, July 1st!

Second community feature for Portland Book Week is .books!

PDX Books Through Bars is a volunteer-run, donations based collective sending free books and other reading materials to people experiencing incarceration.

They are asking for book lovers to support their special books to immigrants program!

85+ books have already been sourced and delivered to people detained by ICE, through Books Through Bars volunteers & partners.

"Native language book access is huge for people being detained with very few recreational outlets. Volunteers working to get books inside ICE facilities say they are "over the moon" with the scope of languages we've been able to aqcuire so far. Let's keep it going!”

Bring them your gently used or new books with topics related to or inclusive of q***r identity and/or q***r authors!

You can bring books directly to their HQ in Southeast Portland (email [email protected] to arrange a time). Or visit their Q***r Book Drive partners on N. Williams, where you can find a great selection of inclusive books and a drop box for donations to thier drive!

Did you know that 39-50% of banned books are written by q***r authors or have characters and themes that are LGBTQAI2S+?

"At Street Books, we work hard to ensure that every bike and every box of books for our 30 community-based partners is carefully and lovingly curated so that our library patrons will see their lives reflected in what we offer. It’s important to us that we have a wide variety of books with a focus on marginalized and LGBTQAI2S+ authors, as q***r people, people of color, and people with disabilities are gravely overrepresented in our neighbors experiencing houselessness."

The 20TH Annual Rose City Book & Paper Fair is Oregon’s premier event for used, rare, and collectible books!

Local and traveling booksellers will be presenting their most interesting material, whether it’s underground zines, quirky vintage photo albums, antiquarian tomes, or signed first editions of today’s hottest authors.

When you play Portland Book Week BINGO you have three chances to enter into a raffle for all kinds of bookish goodies.

We will spin the wheel and pick FOUR winners, that we will announce on social media, who will be able to pick up their prize at the end of the celebrations.

This year we are excited to have join our raffle bundles with Friday passes to see authors like and more!

Winners will also receive books, swag, gift cards, stickers and the list keeps going 🥰
