SOLD: Our final of four. Rare, mid-century modern teak and rosewood Reff System Wall Unit. This unique modular spring form storage and display system by Reff Canada (licensed now by Knoll) exhibits exceptional quality of materials and design.
The versatile 3 bay system was designed and manufactured in the 1960s Canada by the Dreschel brothers (Robert, Eric, Frank and Fred R.E.F.F.) The entire unit is double sided, and can be used as a tension arm room divider, or against a wall with spring loaded tension rods that support the shelves and cabinets from floor to ceiling. Two cabinets have sliding glass doors that can be used on the front or back, and the third is wood on both sides. The doors have push release levers.
The unit is completely modular, and the shelves and cabinets are adjustable according to your needs.
Each bay measures 32”W, overall 99.5” L, 89” minimum H + with capability of 17” extra height to accommodate a range of ceilings. Cabinets and one shelf are 16” D, three shelves are 12” D, three shelves are 8” D. Interior cabinets are 14” H.
Tension rods have had significant veneer repair and replacement, and still show breakage and buckling in places, however it does not impair the overall look or function. The rest of the unit is in very good restored vintage condition.
