Say hello to the rest of our hand-dyed color collection for Sacred Sheep 2026!

The palette we’ve dyed up for this year is inspired by a cozy, vintage holiday season. Think warm cups of tea around the fire, gingerbread cookies, the smell of pine, and glowing lights. We wanted to make a color family that you can play with and fully mix and match - the combinations here are so stunning! I can’t wait to pick out a few skeins for myself and start a cozy colorwork project for rainy PNW evenings. The full six-color lineup that will be available on Maiden, Priestess, and Fae, exclusively at Sacred Sheep!

✽ THIMBLEBERRY is a charming red color with sparse dark speckles. This is a shifting red, going from orangey to raspberry to rust all in the same skein. It’s beautifully complex!

✽ STAR ANISE is a deep, warm chocolate brown. This color is so rich and cozy! It can learn to an almost olive green in some spots too, making for a really interesting and nuanced color.

✽ AS YOU WISH is a true mid-toned grey, made for our November Crafternoon movie, The Princess Bride. We dyed this up on sparkle yarn just for Sacred Sheep! Maiden and Priestess have an extra metallic edge with silver stellina throughout, and the lace weight option has a stunning rainbow sparkle.

Happy WIP Wednesday! We’ve got another Sacred Sheep MAL project to share with you. Martha is busy working on her Bellwether sweater by Caitlin Hunter , getting it all ready for festival weekend. She is using Fae in Obsidian and Natural (held double) for the perfect fluffy sweater!

The MAL ends Sacred Sheep weekend - there is still time to cast off and weave in those ends! There’s always that lovely rush of finishing your project before the festival that we’ve grown to love. Make sure to tag us in your posts and get your FOs up on Ravelry to be entered into the prize drawing! See you next weekend

Sacred Sheep is next week (!!!!) so it’s time to finally share everything we’ve been working on! We have some very special yarn in store for everyone this year - we’ve been sitting on it for a while and are SO excited to show you.

Out of all of the colorways we’ve dyed up for Sacred Sheep, Lichen and Spruce are extra special - they’re our limited Sacred Sheep duo! These two colorways are only available during Sacred Sheep weekend. For those that can’t come in person, we’ve opened up online pre-orders for Lichen and Spruce! They will be open through Sacred Sheep weekend and will ship 6-8 weeks after the preorder window closes on Sunday, November 16th. Stay tuned for details about the other hand-dyed shades we’re bringing!

✽ SPRUCE is a colorway that we’ve been playing around with for a while! We were just waiting for the perfect time to use this dye recipe. Spruce is a deep, rich, and layered green with flashes of teal and blue. We’ve lovingly dubbed this blue/green colorway “breen” at the shop.

✽ LICHEN is a soft, muted sage with a bit of a mint tone. It has deep blue and green speckles throughout for that extra mossy touch.

Our November schedule is here! We’re kicking it off with Spinning Circle on the first, followed by Sacred Sheep weekend. We’ve got a few classes this month, including our classic Knit 101, Intro to Drop Spindle, and Intro to Lace. Our pop-up series continues with a fresh batch of amazing local makers and the month ends with Small Business Saturday!

We’ve got another Sacred Sheep from the team MAL finished sweater to share with you! Paige finished this GORGEOUS Sheep & Roses cardigan just in time for the PNW rainy season. She used Marona in Peridot for her main color and Priestess in Ametrine for the contrast! We love how those rose pockets just pop.

The Sheep & Roses Cardigan by Wanitta - Crochet Pattern Designer is the crochet pattern featured for the Sacred Sheep 2026 make-a-long. It’s got stunning all-over texture with beautiful details in the pockets and hems.

How is everyone’s Sacred Sheep MAL project going?? We have all the way up to Sacred Sheep weekend, so there’s still time to finish up, weave in those ends, and get it all ready for the festival! We can’t wait to see all of your beautiful sweaters.

On Sunday, November 8th, Sam Pletcher will be in the shop with all of their sequined goodies! We met Sam about a year ago now and have been obsessed with their handmade adornments since. Sam’s hand-sewn sequined patches are the perfect addition to your fav project bag!

As you probably know, Sacred Sheep is just around the corner, and we’ve got a few special guests in the RD booth this year! We’re so lucky to be able to highlight a few of our favorite makers in this way - make sure to stop by our booth to check them out!!

✽ Alex from Alex Stone will be in the Ritual Dyes booth all weekend long. She has some incredibly cute yarny flash special for Sacred Sheep! We absolutely love the way her chain stitching looks on knitter’s backpacks and moon pouches. You can bring pieces from your collection or your favorite Sacred Sheep merch to have customized!

✽ James from James N Watts is coming to Sacred Sheep for his first ever showing of his jewelry IRL! James’s work uses gems and stones to create colorful, ethereal pieces to last a lifetime. There will be a limited collection at the JNW table available all weekend!

✽ Avery from silver beast will be slinging buttons and other ceramic goods all weekend in the RD booth. Handmade here in Portland, these buttons are perfect to pair with your new yarn for that extra special project on your queue.

We’ve got yarn coming!! Emily Lymm / Natural Yarn Dyer will be joining us on Saturday, November 7th with a collection of her beautiful naturally dyed yarn. Emily’s Shaniko line is sourced, milled, and hand dyed all in Oregon, making for the most local a yarn could get! She also dyes up a stunning BFL base.

We are so lucky that Old Salt Studios chose our yarn for her newest pattern release! The Amidships Collar uses one skein of Sprite in Chesnut, worked up with the most lush cables and texture. This pattern is featured in the brand new Laine Publishing 52 Weeks of One-Skein Knits, out today. We have pre-orders available for the book on our website now, and lots of Sprite waiting for you!
