Worked up a sample of a slouchy shoulder bag. Needs better leather that allows it to drape and much larger dimensions but it was a great way to quietly start the day after a wild day with friends at Fremont Fest yesterday ☀️🧵🎶🍦☀️🌈

The slouchy duffle is going to be a thing. I’ve made three of them and love every single one. This last rainbow blast is amazing with the metallic leather and leather tassel added as the zipper pull 🌈💛

Started the serger class at Sewing & Fashion Classes. Today we made in class a quilted tote bag so I found some of my Halloween fabric stash for the upcoming spooky season. I promise to not talk about Halloween again until September 😉🧵💛

Been a busy summer sewing littles. I just loaded a ton of Carry All Pouches to the website. This really is the absolute perfect catch all size. It expands out really far without feeling like a huge cosmetic or pencil pouch. These are listed on the website but URBANITE PDX and Madehere carry very pretty patterns for an easy shopping in person experience🌈💛🧵

Took the scraps from the jacket I made with Marcee of Marcee and with her voice in my head I just jumped in without overthinking it. Cut the sides open to above my knees. Measured roughly an inch past on the quilt scrap and then did a quick straight stitch down each side. Love how these old wranglers turned out! They are too big for me but I’m going to drop them off at URBANITE PDX tomorrow for someone else to fall In love with them. The sizing on the Wranglers read 30x32. They fit really comfortable low on the hips for smaller waist sizes.

Seriously took me about 3 years to sit down with Marcee for a fabulous morning of sewing lessons. Her attitude towards sewing speaks to the little girl inside of me that never wanted to finish a hem and thought there had to a non-fussy way to enjoy sewing without reading all the directions. I sat next to Marcee as she chatted her way through showing me how to quickly cut out pattern pieces, make binding, how to alter the pattern easily and then sewing it all together. It was like watching a magical sewing witch cast a spell in front of me. I kept laughing how effortlessly she put together this gorgeous jacket as we walked through assembly and technique. She is what my creative heart needed right now to add a little fun and whimsy back to sewing 💛🧵🌈

The summer interns are going up for adoption at Humane Society for Southwest Washington tomorrow and ready be adopted into your loving home💛🌈🐱. If you want to bring all this love home please let me know. I’m happy to cover adoption fees! Contact me before 7:30 am tomorrow when they get returned to the shelter. They do not fear a single thing and obviously LOVE dogs and purr on demand when they see you coming. The two dark tortoise are available. They are very happy participants in projects but are extremely distracting and will most definitely steal parts of your projects 🧵🐱🌈💛

Second draft of the slouchy shoulder duffel with a slightly smaller feel. Two interior pockets and on end pocket. I like how this is shaping up. Thinking of doing a small run of 5. Let me know what you think.

Drafted a slouchy duffel intended to be thrown over the shoulder. Used up a bunch of scrap to make sure the dimensions would work. Now I need to make a draft with wool to see how the drape works. It’s a little larger than intended so I’ll need to reduce it by about 10%. But the point is, I’m narrowing down what new styles I might want to bring for the fall collection because we all need to spice up handbags 💛🌈Happy Sunday
