Flour Bluff artist Vanessa Spittler is an eclectic artist. From beadwork and resin to wristlets and notecards, she has tried and succeeded in a variety of media. She recently added ceramics to her repertoire!

We also carry her acrylic canvasses in our gallery and at Coffee Waves Port Aransas. And her surf board collaborations with Dinah are found at CACTUS FLOWER INTERIORS in South Padre Island.

Congratulations to the new owners of this unique Dinah Bowman original gyotaku! The 2014 Texas State Record blue marlin was brought to the dock in Rockport and Dinah was able to print the tail. This finished-and-framed fish print was part of Dinah’s Merit Artist exhibition at the Rockport Art Center last winter. The tail measured 54” tip to tip.

Thank you to Ramona and her staff at Latitude 28'02' Restaurant & Art Gallery in Rockport for representing this piece and connecting us with the buyer. We will be helping in getting it shipped to its new home in Oregon.

(And if you were curious, the whole fish was recorded at 972.72 lbs and 134.25 inches long.)
