How to match a thermal payload to your drone in 4 checks.

1. Mount type. The gimbal interface has to match the airframe.
2. Power supply. What the drone offers vs. what the payload draws.
3. Weight. Payload kg against the airframe's max payload, with margin.
4. Compliance. The brand's NDAA status, before your security team asks.

Your thermal camera passed the demo. It can still fail procurement.

I've seen it happen: the purchase gets approved, then compliance asks two questions nobody can answer.

1. Is it NDAA Section 889 compliant?
2. What's the export classification? ITAR, EAR-controlled, or EAR99?

If the answer is "let me check with the manufacturer," you've lost a week. Sometimes the whole deal.
