I started Little Ears for my kids. I want to grow this little business, but I don’t want it to take over the very family life that inspired me to start it.

My time isn’t unlimited. Neither is my energy. And I can’t do everything. So I have to be honest about what actually matters to me.

Some days, my kids get sick, and everything business-related has to wait. Other days, I get so caught up in working on Little Ears that I wonder if I’m giving it too much of myself. Am I doing enough as a mom? Am I getting my priorities right?

The truth is, I’m not always good at finding that balance.

But I don’t want to look back and regret not doing the things I can do for my kids: Making Vietnamese bilingual books for them to read, creating Vietnamese-themed puzzles for them to enjoy, or singing Vietnamese-translated songs together...

I’m still figuring it out my balance. Some days I get it right, and some days I don’t. I’m learning to set boundaries, adjust my priorities, and remind myself that I don’t have to do everything to be a good mom or a good business owner.

Vietnamese bilingual parenting is definitely a long haul. We repeat, rephrase, model, and repeat some more. But hey, we keep going.

Isn't it how we keep Vietnamese alive?

Excuse my hoarse voice since I haven’t been feeling my best lately 😂 But this little song was too fun not to share!

Here’s my Vietnamese version of “Popcorn Kernels” in case you want to add a little Vietnamese to playtime:
