Tomorrow is the day- the day we finally get to show the Eastern Kentucky Ghostbusters how generous or true believers are. In honor of this awesome occasion we have come up with this little story:
Twas a Week Before Christmas at Castle Comics
’Twas a week before Christmas at Castle Comics fair,
When the rustle of capes filled the cool winter air.
The long boxes lined up with meticulous care,
In hopes that true believers soon would be there.
The figures were posed on the shelves with delight,
While Funko Pops gleamed in the soft neon light.
Trade paperbacks stacked from the floor to the wall,
Promising heroes would rise when they fall.
When out from the street came a siren’s loud cry,
Not danger, not terror—but hope rolling by.
A familiar white Ecto came into the lot,
With a logo that proved ghosts were definitely not.
In marched the Ghostbusters, packs humming low,
Proton wands glowing with a festive warm glow.
They carried in toys—every size, every kind,
For kids who could use a bit cheer of the mind.
“Who you gonna call?” the sign proudly proclaimed,
As Ray laughed aloud and Egon calmly explained
That positive spirits (the human, not ghost)
Could be trapped in goodwill and shared coast to coast.
Peter cracked jokes by the counter up front,
Winston unloaded dolls, puzzles, and stunts.
No specters were lurking, no ghouls in the aisles—
Just smiling young faces and parents with smiles.
The bells on the door rang again and again,
As customers joined in—heroes and friends.
They brought games and plushies, trucks, bears, and more,
Stacking up hope right there on the store floor.
The walls seemed to glow with a magical cheer,
As fandom and kindness both shifted a gear.
Even the comics seemed warmer somehow,
Like Santa had stopped by in a cape, not a cow.
As the night wound down and the last toy was packed,
The Ghostbusters smiled at the good they’d exact.
They climbed in the Ecto, the engine did roar,
Leaving Castle Comics brighter than before.
And I heard Peter shout as they drove out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all—and to all a good fight…
Against gloom, against fear, against ghosts in your head—
And remember: be kind. That’s what Egon just said.”
