Early 20th century Tex-Mex cooking brought us the, “taco night taco seasoning” we are all familiar with. Make it, mix it, store it. Recipe below for 1lb. Tomato sauce optional, IMO. Prefer chunks of tomato and onion in the cook.
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup tomato sauce (😑)

2lb ground beef
1 large onion
3 cloves garlic or more
1-2 bell pepper
1 8oz can tomato sauce or 1lb tomatoes. Rough chop or slit, and remove skins during simmer
6 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp Cumin
1 tbsp Oregano
1/2tbsp Onion powder
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/2-2 tsp red pepper
1-2 tbsp masa flour plus 1/4c water to thicken
