I'm so grateful for the reminder that the Lord has everything under control!! Even in chaos, He is steady. We exhaust ourselves in trying to figure it all out when He wants us to be still and use our greatest weapon, His Word, to fight darkness. Darkness cannot overcome light but light...oh light shines and the darkness fades!!

Praise God for His Holy Word, His presence, His power, His care, concern and genuine LOVE for us. 🙌

The shop is open 12-5p today. We are looking forward to seeing you.

Need prayer? We got you.

Love you friends!!

07/29/2026

Revelation 12:11 reminds us that we triumph over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.

So here's a little of mine...

I was baptized 10 years ago as an adult, in front of our church with my daughter. It was a beautiful moment to share with her. I had known the Lord and accepted Him into my heart years before but, to be honest, it's always been a give-and-take relationship...until more recently.

Over the past few years, God has been working in me to let go and truly let Him lead. When He brought me to Jeremiah 29:13, I knew that was what I should call the shop as a reminder that we have to seek Him with our whole heart, but when we do, we find Him. It has been a constant reminder to me that what is from Him, for me, is better than anything I could strive for myself.

Instead of me giving it to Him and then taking it back, I have wholeheartedly surrendered it all to Him. Along the way, He has taken some things away and even asked me to make the difficult decision to remove things myself. He has grown me both as a daughter in Christ and as a servant of the Lord Most High, who has brought me to the end of myself so I could find ALL of Him.

My life looks vastly different than I ever thought it would and better than I could have done on my own. I don't want for much. I live very humbly. I have a different outlook on how I spend my time, talents, and treasures. I realize it's all His and, without Him, I'm not sure I would be here today.

I've become who I am by His grace, and I want to continue following Him wholeheartedly without fear of the future. Declaring that in baptism, outside in His creation, is what He spoke to my heart a little while ago. I didn't know the time or the place until the day it happened.

You see, devastation brought joy...but let me tell you how.

His Word says in Psalm 46, "A river brings joy to the City of our God." The Scripture goes on to say, "God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it."

When He called me to Lesterville and Black a few weeks ago, He wasn't just calling me to serve. He was bringing me into relationship with family...His family...and relationships that have quickly become some of my most cherished. It's never been about me, only Him and answering the call. I'm so grateful a few friends have answered too.

We truly do have to come to the end of ourselves to receive the fullness of Him and, friends, I am there. I praise God even when it isn't easy because, when I am weak, He is strong!!

On Saturday morning, my new friends and I were sitting around a table, sharing a meal, talking about the Lord and how much good He is doing. We were planning the evening made possible because our friends at Big River Outdoors Campground opened their gates to the Black River Baptist Church family to enjoy a night of rest and refreshment after a time that has depleted so many.

In that conversation, baptism in the river came up, and that's when the Lord laid it on my heart. He provided the time, the place, and now the perfect people to share in this moment with me. Although this moment was truly between me and God, having these beautiful people surround me, love me, and so quickly and effortlessly invite me into their family...well, it's only, again, by the grace of God.

This wasn't a decision I took lightly. Pastor Greg didn't hesitate, and we went to the river almost as soon as we got there. One of the best parts? THREE friends also decided to get baptized right there, one after another. So many full-circle moments, but none greater than seeing how the Lord has brought His kids together to serve, to love, and to worship.

I am so excited about the future for one simple reason...He has told me to wake up in expectation of Him, and that's just what I'll do. Every day isn't easy. When you follow the Lord wholeheartedly, you come up against some serious opposition. Why? Because the enemy finds you a threat. And you know what? He should!

I left it in the river that day, and I'm not picking it back up again.

To HIM be the glory!!!

Something new is coming!!!

One of the things I love most about choosing brands for the shop is finding companies that do more than create beautiful products, they're also making a difference. Over the past few months, I've been adding to our collection of brands that give back, and I'm excited for you to see several cOLoRfUl new additions arriving at the shop.

Many of the handmade items from Ten Thousand Villages have already arrived, but these tall baskets are one of the pieces I've been waiting for. They're perfect for a laundry hamper, storing blankets, or simply brightening up a room (I hope I can part with them and not keep them for myself!!)

Here's just a small part of their mission:

"As pioneers of fair trade, Ten Thousand Villages brings conscious shoppers purposeful handmade goods for home and life... We value the unique nature of something that's been crafted by hand and invest in the life of the maker behind it. Long-term partnerships with women and marginalized communities in developing countries help break the cycle of poverty and ignite social change."

Their partnerships help ensure artisans earn a fair, living wage in safe working conditions while celebrating craftsmanship and culture. Today, they work with more than 20 developing countries, impacting over 100,000 artisans and their families.

They are beautiful products with an even more beautiful purpose.

Keep an eye on the page because I can't wait to introduce you to more of the new brands joining the shop...each one chosen not only for what they create, but for the difference they're making around the world.

And just think, when you purchase them, you not only help a small, local business, you also make a difference around the world!! Pretty amazing if you ask me ;)

If you can read this, comment something you're grateful for. Why? Because the best way to start your day is with gratitude.

The Lord knows your needs. Although we anticipate His moves, we don't always get them right, which can leave us feeling confused and unsure. But on the other side of His response is always something better—a clear representation of His faithfulness in all He does.

James 1:2–4 reminds us that when troubles of any kind come our way, we are to consider it an opportunity for great joy because the testing of our faith develops endurance. As we allow that endurance to grow, the Lord continues His work in us, making us mature and complete.

This just reminds us that even in the difficult times, He is faithful, and we can experience joy in the midst of it all.

Verse 12 goes on to tell us that God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. They will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

We have to patiently endure everything that comes our way. We mustn't give credit to the enemy for everything because sometimes the Lord allows these trials in our lives so they can do exactly what these verses tell us they will do—develop us into who the Lord created us to be.

Before James changes subjects, he says in verse 17 that every good and perfect gift comes down from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. Then he reminds us that God chose to give us birth by His true Word and that, out of all creation, we became His prized possession. (James 1:17–18)

Friends, in the midst of everything you're dealing with, gratitude is what will help you not stay stuck.

We know His Word tells us to think on things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8) Today, let's intentionally think on those things that are praiseworthy.

I was thinking this morning, as my AC isn't working again, about all of my friends who are having to start over. Friends who don't have central air. Friends whose homes have been completely gutted and who are having to rebuild their lives. Suddenly, I felt so incredibly blessed.

I have friends who have lost loved ones, friends who are fighting for loved ones, and friends who are lost and need to know their Heavenly Father.

When I stop and think about all of that, my own problems seem minimal. I can move on with my day knowing that the Lord will care for me. And He cares for all of those friends, too. And He cares for YOU!

I'm grateful for the people He has brought into my path—those who have stepped in when I've needed them, those who have answered the call, those who have been there for others, and those who continue to serve others every single day.

Because, friends, we are His hands and feet.

So, all of this to say... I want you to share something you're grateful for today. Share as many things as you'd like. Share a prayer. Encourage someone. Remind them of God's goodness. You never know who might need to read your words today.

Happy Monday, friends. Let's start this week with grateful hearts.

07/27/2026

In between catching up around the house, dealing with A/C issues for a bit, and mowing outside in what felt like a furnace, I've been thinking about just what I wanted to say. Sometimes I think people forget there are real people behind small businesses. We aren't just storefronts or pages. We're husbands and wives, moms and dads, families, trying to make a living while serving the communities we love. So today, I wanted to share something that's been on my heart.

You see, this morning I was getting ready to make a post for the shop when an ad popped up from one of my vendors offering a discount on some of the very same things I sell. It's easy to get sucked into saving 25% with the click of a button. I get it. We're all busy, so convenience tends to be key these days.

But here's where that ad got personal for me...each of our local businesses has worked hard to carefully choose the brands and products on our shelves, not for ourselves, but for our customers. Those same brands are now available on Amazon, TikTok, Facebook, and countless other places, making it easier than ever to never leave the comfort of home.

We often wonder, when small businesses struggle, why can't we keep them in our small towns? Then comes the question of cost..."Well, I can get it cheaper at..." fill in the blank.

What often gets forgotten is everything behind that price tag: rent, utilities, marketing, packaging, insurance, rising shipping costs, payroll, and the cost of the products themselves, point of sale systems and that's only a portion of it. Our small businesses can't compete with the buying power of big companies, and if we tried, we wouldn't last long.

I'm sure any of your favorite business owners will tell you there are a lot of reasons they chose to open a business. But what keeps it going is grit, determination, keeping your eyes focused on your own goals, and the three most overlooked letters that make the biggest impact: Y-O-U.

Rarely do your local businesses say "no" when asked to support a local cause, donate to a fundraiser, sponsor a team, or help someone in need. We do it because we love our communities. But as technology continues to advance, purchases become easier and easier without ever stepping foot inside the businesses that desperately need your support.

Before making those impulse purchases, take a moment to pray before you purchase and consider shopping local. Ask yourself: Is saving a little today costing our community more tomorrow?

Shop local. Support small business. Watch your community thrive.

And finally, thank you to our friends at A.M. edition for having the courage to say what so many small business owners have been thinking for quite some time. Your post gave voice to a conversation that's worth having.

📚Long Post Ahead 📚

We have seen so many Amazon wish lists posted and then teachers sharing what their classrooms have been gifted and it always breaks my heart just a little when I see books.

Remember your local businesses when sharing the classroom needs or when shopping for teachers. We have a growing section of kids books and can order almost anything!

I know our prices are higher and it's difficult to compete with the likes of Amazon.

But does Amazon support the local school or community? Do they give to the boosters, school teams, local charities, etc? No..

I hesitated posting this because we are so grateful for everyone's support over the years, but this is just one instance of a way you can truly support local.

Everyone wants our town to succeed and to grow, so, put your money where your words are and shop local. It truly means so much. ❤️

❤️ Please comment a local business who has back to school type items so we can help those who may not know what our community offers!! We can spread the word!!
