At West Parishville Metals, we’ve been getting a lot of great questions—especially during the spring rush. Here are some of the most common ones, along with our answers:

1. What materials do you accept?
We accept and pay top prices for all ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
We pay for car batteries and catalytic converters.
We accept electronic waste and appliances, with Freon, at no charge.
We now accept propane tanks for a small fee.
We do NOT accept household garbage, tires, mattresses, wood, or similar items.

2. Should I separate my materials?
Absolutely! Separating your materials saves our team time—and we pass those savings on to you.
As we like to say: “If you do the work, we’ll pay you.”

3. How does the scale work?
When you enter our yard, the scale will be on your left. Drive onto it and come to a complete stop.

Your weight will appear on the screen to your right
A red light will be visible on the scale house
When the light turns green, your weight has been recorded and you can proceed

4. What if I have a very heavy item?
No problem—we have staff and equipment to help unload items you can’t handle yourself.

5. How do you pay?
We pay cash, same day, every day.

6. Do you offer roll off containers?
Yes! We have over 110 roll off containers (10, 15, and 20 yard sizes) available to be delivered to your home, business, camp or anywhere in between. We offer competitive pricing and pay you for the material inside. Call us for details.

Value Payment Plus is very simple - Your feelings finally affect your payout. Got scrap? Got a story? Perfect. The more emotional… the more we pretend it matters. Some examples include:

✔️ “My grandfather gave me this” → +$5 (we nod respectfully)
✔️ “I was gonna fix it someday” → +$10 (you weren’t)
✔️ “It still runs, maybe” → +$15 (it doesn’t)
✔️ “I drove it here so it counts as a vehicle” → We’ll allow it
✔️ “My wife said it had to go” → +$20 (we understand)
✔️ “I paid good money for this” → -$5 (that’s on you)
✔️ “It’s basically brand new” → immediate inspection 👀
✔️ Crying during weigh-in → BONUS CONSIDERATION 💧

💼 Premium Upgrade Available:
For an extra $3, you can tell your story twice and we’ll act surprised both times. However, we ask that you keep your story to a five-minute minimum. After the third “wow” and the second “no kidding”, we will ask you to leave.
