Finished today. Meet The Fluthers; short for feathered floaters. They don't swim much so that their feathers don't get frizzy. They don't fly either with no feathered wings to lift them.

Reminder! I am now a Hobby business. I will do events on occasions and open my shop periodically. I do not do any shipping or on-line sales. The scammers pose too much risk to do online sales and shipping can damage or destroy the gourd pieces I have worked so very hard on. I will continue to post photos of new pieces and announce what events I will be showing my gourd and other pieces at.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I am now a HOBBY BUSINESS not a BUSINESS!

I love working with gourds and until this year I was doing this as a business. But early this year I reluctantly admitted to myself that my knee surgery and scoliosis would prevent us from doing events. Also my husband had shoulder surgery, so neither of us were up to the work of setting up for shows. Vendor events are where we made most of our sales. As it turned out, the weather this year interfered with the only outdoor event we attempted.

In addition, I have encountered scammers attempting to cheat me out of money. That is disheartening.

So, my little building will be my show room for my gourds, my beaded and other art, Jerry's gourds and his diamond art. I will open by appointment and if you see something you like, I will sell it to you. But, I won't keep regular hours.

We may do an occasional event if the set up isn't too difficult. I may also enter art or gourd art shows or competitions.

I will not sell online or ship my gourds. I plan to only do in-person shows and sales.

I want to enjoy creating gourd art. Running a business is tough and I have found I get little reward for all the time and energy I put into trying to make even a marginal profit.

I hope to see you at an event my husband and I feel up to doing. Or come visit my show room/building! I will continue to post photos of my newest gourd projects or old favorites here on the Elohi Spirit Gourds page.

In the meantime remember to support your local artists and small businesses! They need you!

We will be at the Old Time Music & Heritage Fest in West Plains tomorrow and Saturday (10-dark). Elohi Spirit Gourds will be under the big tent on the west lawn, near the main entrance of the Civic Center. Check out historic uses for gourds and how gourds have evolved into new Ozarks traditions - like Ozarks Gourdillos as seen below. Also I will be demonstrating pine needle weaving on gourds. Make and take kits available!
