An uncommon approach to an 1881 family Bible with lots of internal damage. Rather than mend all the pages or create a drop-spine box to house the parts, we left the damaged pages and the original spine in place, making a "dust jacket" out of new leather and the detached boards.

A simple and elegant solution to a profoundly traumatized Bible. 34 rolls of scotch tape, hundreds of pages trying desperately to escape, it's formerly slender frame now ballooned to more than double its thickness, and the only practical solution to preserving over a decade of notations and highlighting for posterity a drop-spine box.
