Parking lot maintenance will take place at the Liberty Branch Library on Sunday, October 18 and Monday, October 19. Lot improvements will include crack-sealing, sealcoating, and lane striping. During each project time frame, no vehicle traffic will be allowed in the designated areas. The diagram above illustrates the timing of each project.

Sunday, October 18:

Blue section improvements.
Steitz Road access to the branch will be blocked.
Enter through the Home Road entrances.
There will be no access to the drive-up window or the drive-up book drop for returns.
A temporary book drop receptacle will be placed outside the branch to receive returns. You can also wait to bring your returns until Monday or Tuesday.
Monday, October 19:

Pink section improvements.
Home Road access to the branch will be extremely limited.
Enter through the Steitz Road entrance.
If you have holds expiring or items due on Sunday or Monday, their deadlines will be extended to Tuesday, October 20. Returns can also be made to any other DCDL location.

Kick off the weekend before Halloween with our Powelloween celebration! Trick or Treat at the Downtown Powell businesses from 11 am to 1 pm on 10/24. Kids, Teens, and Adults in costume are all welcome to participate. We will then have a kid friendly Halloween storytime at Escape Into Fiction Bookstore at 1:15 pm-1:45 pm. While registration is not require all candy is “while supplies lasts”. Be sure to bring a bag to collect your goods!

Sunday The City of Powell is hosting Candy By The Carload at Adventure Park. Pre registration is not required!

In addition to all of these, our restaurants may be serving specialty themed drinks/beer, Finn and Roe is having their Anniversary Sale on the 23rd and 24th, and our parks are always beautiful this time of year! Come on out and explore Powell!

While this is an unfortunate circumstance that was beyond our control, we are truly overwhelmed with gratitude for the way our community has stood behind us.

So many of you have reached out to check on our staff, and that means more to us than you know. We are happy to share that our entire staff is fully vaccinated, and no one who worked during the time in question is exhibiting any symptoms.
