Good morning & Happy Saturday! They’re back!!!

I brought in more Arfvedsonite Palmstones since they flew out of here the last time. But I took a closer look at these & I discovered something awesome!

Now I know Lots of places call these Astrophyllite (they are NOT) - honestly sounds cooler but I couldn’t figure out why they were labeled as Astrophyllite/Arfvedsonite - as if they were both rare minerals together in one. So I took a good look at them.

No Astrophyllite to be found, but lots of GARNET!!! Jackpot!

They’re back!! Black Onyx Palmstones!!!

BUT I must clarify something. Thanks to a wonderful customer, I did some research & have corrected the info I provide to include the very real possibility that the Black Onyx sold these days may actually be treated to enhance the deep black these pieces are famous for.

This in no way takes away from how cool these stones are, but just so you are aware. The banding & markings are real.

Good morning & Happy Friday!! Tried to post this yesterday but Facebook would not let me edit the pics! Tried several fixes, all failed so I ended up editing the pics outside of FB & here we are.

Anyway, these are Agate Slices & they are incredible! Such a variety! Large, small, transparent, translucent, opaque, light, dark, banded, striped, optic - the list goes on.

Last but not least - Snakeskin Fire Agate Flats - this one is going to take a bit of explaining.

So there is a lot of confusion because these are frequently sold as Fire Agate. But these Flats ARE NOT Fire Agate. The first picture shows an actual image of real Fire Agate, which is rare, expensive & more similar to opal.

The second pic shows Snakeskin Agate from Oregon. The crackling effect resembling snakeskin is naturally formed. These Flats ARE NOT Snakeskin Agate.

Snakeskin Fire Agate is a heat-treated Chalcedony which is then exposed to cold water to produce the crackling snakeskin-like appearance, featuring natural banding along with a variety of brown, orange, peach, & white colors. Despite such alterations or because of them, these specimens are quite visually stunning. And I think some of the most interesting pieces I’ve seen.
