Notes from the Greenhouse:

Just a couple quick items to mention.
The fall mums are our on display and waiting on a new home. Wednesday we will be off picking up pumpkins, cutting corn stalks and hopefully a few other fall decorating items which will all be available starting on Thursday.

We have a few sweet deals on some yellow dipladenia baskets, lemon ball sedum baskets and some perennial goats beard. The baskets are $10 and the Goats beard is $7

Tiffany and I have just about all the ordering done for next year. We still have some hanging basket combinations to put together hopefully in the next couple weeks that will be checked off the list. We have also been brainstorming some other event ideas so if anyone has a suggestion we will gladly take it. I know she is pretty geeked up to start her first full season here, get involved and continue to learn all there is to learn. I know she will love helping all our amazing guests during the container workshops and the busy spring rush. I appreciate her and all she has helped me with so much and I pray that never goes unnoticed.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

Just a quick one this morning. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed the Prentice Pregress days parade yesterday. Every year its a highlight for us to build a float and pass out some plants that we still have been nurturing. This was Tiffany's first experience doing that and she had a fantastic time and was able to share it with her older daughter as they both put smiles on many recipients of the giveaways. Sorry to those at the end of the parade route cause our float didn't look like much.

Today we will be closing at 1. I have some responsibilities in town as a member of the lions club and Tiffany will be enjoying a day with her daughters.

This week we will be transitioning to our fall season. Getting the mums out on display and all the other fall decorating items soon to follow.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

Just a little update on our monarch friends. They are not leaving much left of the butterfly w**d. Lots of chrysalis are being formed and in the strangest places. Tiffany brought her daughters over and they found the smallest caterpillar yet. It was barely a quarter inch. Its been a daily stop to check out all the changes. Quite incredible.

Just a short note to announce some temporary hour changes.
Starting on Monday and for the week after as well
I will be closed Monday thru Wednesday. Until the fall mums are ready it needs to make sense to be open those days and the past few weeks have showed me it does not. Thanks for your understanding and enjoy your weekend.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

Just a quick note. I'm just in awe of the amount of monarchs this year. We have 10 butterfly w**d along Tanyas House and Tiffany and I counted over 200 caterpillars and a bunch of chrysalis the other day. Next year hopefully we will have other varieties to attract even more.

The mums should be starting to show color around the 10th of September. We will start switching up our displays for the fall season pretty soon. I cant believe its that time of year already.

Tiffany and I have made the final decisions for next year's petunias and calibrachoas. Wasn't easy but we have some beautiful ones we will be growing. I must say it is so much fun sharing those duties with someone else that has the passion I do.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

Warning. This is rather lengthy.

Is it really the middle of August already? I guess doing what you love everyday the time just seems to go so fast. Lots to reflect on as i took my nightly stroll through the greenhouses and on the boardwalk. I won't bore you with it all.
To say its been a chaotic year would be an understatement. Shortly after my planting season began in February I lost my manager and dearest friend I've ever had inTanya. It was her time to start plant her amazing petunia combinations. Needless to say I sadly but proudly took on that responsibility. I miss her everyday and to forever honor her and keep her memory alive the new greenhouse will always be Tanyas House. Some of you may have see the sign her daughter designed. To say the least April was an emotional struggle to just stay positive and to continue pushing forward doing what i love. What was a huge help was all the amazing friends who volunteered their time to help fill pots, plant, trim or just stopped to talk. Then you add the great turn out for the container workshops where everyone created some masterpieces and got their hands in the dirt.
Then May arrives and it starts cool and sales are way off but it picked up and by the end of June things were looking good. July rolled around and mother nature thought it would be cute to throw in lots of heat and just for kicks some wildfire smoke. Sales were down and now as fall is slowly creeping in we hope for a cool down as alot of you will be visiting to choose some mums and other fall items.
Now if I can jump back to April for a minute. However it happened, by divine intervention or just dumb luck. ( I'm going with the first)
My flower soul mate started working here. Tiffany's love of plants rivals mine. She has so much to learn about all the behind the scenes nuances but her passion for this beautiful industry is front and center. Thanks to her I was able to get away for some much needed r and r with some dear friends this week doing non plant things. It was wonderful.
Come this spring Tanya will be smiling down from heaven looking at all the beautiful petunias growing in her house. They are her favorite flowers. Tiffany and I choose over 40 amazing ones after our visit to some flower trials last week. Tiffany wanted to keep them all on the list but we need to offer other flowers. Lol
We will be starting to work on the 1000 hanging basket combinations this coming week.
If there are any requests for something specific please send me a message.
All our orders for next year's crop should be in by the end of the month hopefully.

Please stop out and walk the boardwalk. The majority still looks beautiful.

We have some gorgeous hardy perennial hibiscus looking for their forever home.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

Well, it was a wonderful day at Plant Peddler yesterday. We saw some amazing flower trials and reunited with some friends in the industry. I'm sure Tiffany was a little overwhelmed but hopefully in a good way. The rain held off so we could take it all in. Down its time to get our orders in for next year and to create some beautiful hanging basket combinations. The trials are so helpful when it comes to ordering. They definitely changed our minds on a few things, whether to add something or remove something from our list. Thank you to our friends that tended to the Greenhouse and took on the watering needs. I appreciate it so very much.

A quick note from the Greenhouse:

We will be closed Friday. We are off to Iowa for some flower trials. Tiffany's first and I know she is excited. Should be a fun day. We have some amazing friends doing all our watering tasks while we are gone. We will be back to regular hours Saturday.

Notes from the Greenhouse:

It was another amazing day at and away from the Greenhouse. It started out in Tomahawk installing a rain garden for Scott & Kelly. I didn't do much of the installation, that fun was all Tiffany and she just loves playing in the dirt and day a amazing job. It turned out beautiful and now we just need some rain, but for now it will be watering by hand. These little planting projects are something we would like to do more of, so if you have a need or know someone who may go ahead and contact us.

The day ended rather enjoyable. A guest from Arkansas was visiting the greenhouse for the first time and ended up doing an hour long live til tok video, showing her viewers the beautiful flowers and boardwalk. A huge thank you to her and all her wonderful comments.

We love sharing this beauty and are blessed to be surrounded by it everyday.
