Today is Relaxation Day!

Wait...what? Relaxation...what is that? LOL

If you're anything like us, sometimes we're so busy doing all the things that we forget it's okay to simply STOP for a little while.

So, SMARTgirls is coming to the rescue with 5 simple ways to add a little relaxation to your day:

1. Do a 10-minute brain dump.
Grab a piece of paper and write down everything bouncing around in your head. Don't organize it. Don't solve it. Just get it out of your brain and onto paper.

2. Sit outside and do absolutely NOTHING.
Put the phone down. Sit somewhere comfortable and just listen. Notice the birds, feel the breeze and watch the world around you for 10–15 minutes.

3. Listen to ONE favorite song.
Here's the catch—you can't do anything else while it's playing! No cleaning, scrolling or answering emails. Just sit and enjoy the music.

4. Do something simple with your hands.
Work on a puzzle, color, garden, bake, knit, organize photos...anything repetitive and enjoyable that lets your mind slow down.

5. Spend five quiet minutes in gratitude, prayer or reflection.
Think about what you're thankful for, what went right today, or what you need to let go of instead of carrying it around with you.

You don't have to spend the whole day relaxing. Just give yourself a few minutes today. You might be surprised by how much you needed it. ❤️

Okay, ladies, I have to admit...I think it is hilarious that people are making SUCH a big deal about a convenience store.

But if you haven't heard, Arizona now has its first Buc-ee's!

What's Buc-ee's? Well, calling it a convenience store doesn't really seem to do it justice. It originally started in Texas, it's HUGE, it has more than 100 gas pumps (seriously?!), and apparently its brisket sandwiches have their own fan club.

So, of course, my hubby and I fell for all the hoopla and decided we needed to see what this Buc-ee's phenomenon was all about.

Off to Goodyear we went!

And you know what?

It was everything people said it was...and MORE.

There were people everywhere. The food lines were LONG, although I have to give them credit—they moved amazingly fast. And the store itself? Oh my goodness. Food, snacks, clothing, home decor, gifts, Buc-ee's merchandise...I'm pretty sure if you looked hard enough, you could find just about anything in there. And, yes, we did have to visit one major thing they are known for...famously clean bathrooms. This was an experience in itself.

At some point I had to remind myself, "Terri, you came to see a gas station." 😂

But I get it now.

If you haven't joined the Buc-ee's craziness yet, I think it's worth doing at least once just for the experience.

Now I want to know...

Have you been yet? And more importantly, what did you buy or eat?

Because apparently going to Buc-ee's and leaving with just a tank of gas is NOT how this works. 😉

✈️ The SMARTgirl’s Travel Outfit Formula

Travel days can be long, so what you wear matters! The trick is finding that sweet spot between comfortable enough for the journey and cute enough for wherever you land.

Here’s our simple travel outfit formula:

Start with a comfy bottom.
Choose jeans with a little stretch, pull-on pants or another style you can comfortably sit in for a few hours.

Add an easy top.
Think soft, breathable and wrinkle-friendly. You want something that still looks good when you finally reach your destination.

Bring a layer.
Airports, airplanes and road trips seem to have their own weather systems! A cardigan, lightweight jacket or wrap can be a lifesaver.

Choose your shoes wisely.
Comfortable slip-ons, sneakers or loafers make walking through airports and sightseeing much easier.

Finish with a crossbody.
Your phone, ID, wallet and other essentials stay close while your hands stay free for luggage, coffee and everything else.

And our bonus SMARTgirl travel rule: Wear pieces on travel day that you can wear again during your trip. Less to pack and more room in your suitcase for a little vacation shopping. 😉
