There’s a reason the shiny side faces out.

The reflective exterior on our Arctic Tern blackout blinds isn’t just for looks. It faces the window so it can reflect radiant heat from the sun back toward the exterior, helping reduce heat gain inside your rig while also providing privacy and blocking out light.

Our blind and bug screens operate independently, giving you the freedom to let in fresh air, block out the light, or find somewhere in between. When the blackout blind is closed, it also creates a dead-air space between the blind and double-pane window for an added layer of insulation.

And we think they look pretty good inside this build, too.

We got to check out this beautiful interior at Overland Expo and love how naturally the Arctic Tern windows fit into the space!

Not every weekend is full of wild adventures. Sometimes it's a Lowe's run, a little demolition, and two very dedicated project supervisors.

Aimee rigged up double awnings so Buster and our newest Tern family member, little Fraser, could supervise while she removed the front seat and got the truck ready for Fraser's traveling crate.

Fraser even tagged along to Lowe's for supplies. Based on his performance so far, we're not sure how much help he's actually going to be.

This is exactly the kind of build the Wildlands Door was made for.

Originally developed for use in Africa and Australia, the Arctic Tern Wildlands Door was designed with maximum ventilation and security in mind.

Its triple locking system features two deadbolts and three latch points, while the metal-framed inner screen door uses heavy-duty stainless-steel mesh with a fine bug screen on the outside. That means you can leave the outer door open for maximum airflow while keeping the screen door securely locked.

Wildlands Doors come in three stock sizes, black or white, and left- or right-hand hinge configurations. OEM builders can also order custom sizes, and the lock barrel can be keyed to match your Arctic Tern Cargo Doors.

We spotted this setup at Overland Expo this year and got the chance to meet the guy behind it, !

Radica has been working on something pretty cool.

Meet STARGATE, ’ new hard-shell pop-top truck camper, designed to feel compact on the road and seriously spacious once it’s time to camp.

With zero canvas, an electric pop-top, panoramic views, a queen bed, plenty of room to stand up and move around, and a starting weight of just 500 lbs, there’s a lot packed into this camper.

And we’re excited to have a small part in it! Arctic Tern Flat Windows are featured in the lower section of STARGATE, where their low-profile design works with the unique hard-shell pop-top configuration while still providing ventilation, natural light, and an integrated blind and screen.

The Arctic Tern Adventure Door brings durability, security, and everyday comfort together in one complete entryway.

Designed for trailers and micro-campers, it features a powder-coated aluminum frame, double-pane acrylic window, and a sturdy latch with an integrated deadbolt. Choose from vertical sliding or awning-style windows, left- or right-hand hinges, and multiple corner configurations to fit your build.

Shoutout to for building some seriously cool teardrop trailers and choosing Arctic Tern to be a part of them. We think the Adventure Door looks right at home!

Meet Scott and Furiosa.

Scott Crawford stopped by Tern last week to pick up a few components for a build with a purpose much bigger than the rig itself.

His 2000 Stewart & Stevenson LMTV, affectionately named Furiosa, is being transformed into an overland vehicle, but exploring is only part of the plan.

Scott is at a point in his life where giving back is a priority. Once Furiosa is ready, he plans to take her into disaster-affected communities around the US, volunteering wherever he can and working alongside organizations like the Red Cross and Search and Rescue.

A quote Scott says has always stuck with him:

“We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” — Dr. Loretta Scott

The entire project is self-funded, built piece by piece, and documented along the way as Scott prepares Furiosa for the road ahead.

We love having the opportunity to make connections with real people through what we do. People who build, explore, help others, and find their own reasons to get out there.
