Sparrowdale - Gathering and Working Space in Princeville, IL Sparrowdale is a space for the gatherers – keycard members work, meet, study, and create from 5 a.m.-midnight any day!

It’s also a place to host a small event, attend a workshop, and shop for home finds and gifting on Friday afternoons.

This is going to date me, but in college my ringtone on my phone 😆 was set to “Carry Your Candle”. It’s a song all about how the darkness can be overcome with light and we get to be the light-bearers. Look it up, it’s worth your listen today. 😍

With that in mind, I’m excited to announce our candle workshop — candle pouring is something I’ve worked to get better at over time and I’m still not a professional but candles are just what we need for fall and winter and we can make our own!

Spent some time this week moving stuff around to make room for a lot of things — fall merchandise, simpler banquet-style event set-up, and just a little re-set. Currently doing the same thing in my closet at home and it feels so good. 🍂 Seasons are such a gift, you know?!

(And another before and after!)

During open hours, anyone can use Sparrowdale even without a membership, and the shop is open! Open hours in September are as follows:

Friday, September 4 — 12-4 pm and shop is 20% off!
Friday, September 11 — 12-4 pm and shop is 20% off!
Friday, September 18 — 12-4 pm
Friday, September 25 — 12-4 pm

Hours are shortened in September due to my schedule; however, if you are in the shop by the time I leave I sure won’t kick you out and you’re welcome to stay past open hours to use the space!

It’s almost Labor Day weekend — the weekend demo began last year! So sharing another before and after this morning — this one in honor of both the people who helped get Sparrowdale to where it is today (my family 😍) and the people who use it today — all of you. It’s truly inspiring to watch you fill this space with the people you love — and the way it’s now filled with hope and purpose instead of old materials and unfinished ideas is really exciting. 🫶🏻 Here’s to the year ahead!

Things can become more than they appear to be right now. 🤍

It was Labor Day weekend last year that we began demo on this space, so there’s just one short (or long?) year in between these two photos. This week I’ll try to dig through my (plenty full) phone storage and pull out a few before and afters, so keep an eye on our posts for a regular reminder that good things take time (and often a lot of hard work 😉)

I’ve recently had a few questions about if space rentals are open only to members, and the answer is - no! We actually have a lot of non-members host privately, although membership does get you a discount!

Hosting at Sparrowdale is a great option for:
+ showers and come-and-go events
+ family dinners that need a little something extra
+ holiday events
+ team events
+ meetings where a centrally-located, neutral space is ideal
+ retreats and day meetings — if the options we have listed don’t meet your needs, please don’t hesitate to ask about additional rental times or options!!
