The time has come!
Golden Coffee Co and Oliver Books are teaming up to host a midnight release party for A Court of Splintered Harmony by Sarah J Mass!

Location: Golden Coffee Co
129 NW 4th St, Prineville, Oregon 97754

Time: 10pm-1am

Tickets are $75 and will include a hardcover book, a drink ticket, an entry to win a special prize valued at $400, and a bedazzling event!

Additional information:

1. It will be a costume party. It is not required, but if you choose to participate come dressed as a character and/or a themed costumed related to the series. Those who dress up have the chance to receive additional entries into the prize drawing.

2. The bedazzling event requires you bring your own book or object to bedazzle. If you cannot bring your own item, wooden bookmarks will be provided at no extra cost. Gems and tools will be provided by hosts.

3. If you already purchased the book through Oliver Books as a pre-order, you may receive store credit or cash refund. We are unable to offer discounts on Eventbrite.
After you purchase your ticket for the event, we request you show us the confirmation of purchase to receive your refund in store for the pre-order.

4. Refunds will be granted up to 7 days before the event. If you have an emergency closer to the event, you will have to request in person at Oliver Books.

This is not a super rare/expensive find, but it is a super cool find!

Pierre Boulle is the author of Planet of the Apes, which happens to be one of my favorite Sci-Fi novels.

I have been on the hunt for a First American Hardback Edition of Planet of the Apes for AGEEESSS.

It’s highly unlikely that will happen, BUT the next best thing is finding other books by the author when it’s an uncommon author for me to stumble upon!

So excited because I purchased a storage method that will actually be functional and very useful for the space I have.

I am not joking, I have about 30k books in the garage. For an idea of how many books that is (it is a lot) I only have about 12k in the actual store! So, it’s a lot.

I have physically touched every single book in the garage. I have prioritized books and decided what can be put out. The issue is time. Getting books into the system simply takes time.

I have made a big effort to sort books by author (James Paterson, Nora Roberts, JD Robb, Danielle Steele, Sandra Brown, David Baldacci, etc)

My goal is to have boxes that are sorted so I can quickly grab a box when someone is interested in finding a specific book by a prolific author, that does not appear to be on a shelf.

I am telling you, JUST ASK. I know what I have. If I can’t find it right away, I will look for it.

Here’s a picture of my currently unorganized garage. It needs a lot of sorting! There are treasures! There’s also some of the strangest, stinkiest, damaged books you’ve ever seen!

I’m hoping with this storage unit I can actually make some progress and get these books off the floor in boxes (with labels) to help customers more effectively and keep this space functional!

Excuse me while I pass out from this amazing find! 1st american edition, 13th printing! The unfortunate part is that it’s an ex library edition! Bummer!
However, for $1.99 I’m not going to complain!

This is not the best find I’ve ever encountered. The most expensive book I’ve sold at the store was a 1st edition East of Eden by John Steinbeck. The most valuable book I’ve sold online was a 1920s near fine Great Controversy by Ellen G White (that was literally gorgeous. Blue cloth bound with gold. I almost kept it for my personal collection.) My best find was at a library sale for .25. It is a First American edition Diary of Anne Frank. It’s also disappointing, even though it’s valuable, because it lacks the original dust jacket. Lastly, my most valuable collection is a 10 set Arabian Knights leather bound collection with is a facsimile. It’s the 14th out of 250.

I don’t buy many books anymore for personal use, but I do collect. It’s my favorite activity when it comes to book buying.

I also love finding rare books and gifting them! I just gave an Isaac Asimov to an 18 year old who just happened to tell me it was his favorite book, and I happened to have a very good paperback which gorgeous art in my collection!

I am in search of this book, from a local who would like to sell it to me for store credit or cash.

This book is for me, I’m not going to sell it.

I normally don’t ask for specific books from the community, or commonly buy. However, I’d rather not order on Amazon (it’s an older book.)

There is a high chance I own it (somewhere) in a box. But, I don’t have the time to dig through 100+ boxes for one small book.

I’m fine with a paperback, but would fall over on my face if someone brought me a hardcover! I can’t give the amount in cash for a hardback, but will give store credit that reflects the cost of the value of this book due to its difficulty to acquire.

Good morning! My husband is holding down the fort while I go to Reno for my soon to be sister in laws bridal shower!

He has an extensive knowledge on books, and loves to help people at the store!

I’m today from 10am-5pm at 365 NE Court St.

Waiting on an order? If you haven’t received a call from Kelly this week, it should be here at the beginning of the week!

I know the smoke is extremely dense right now! (Reminds me of the dense fog on an early morning by the ocean.) We have a heavy duty very large air purifier. It’s also cool inside! Come hang out if you need a break from the smoke, no purchase necessary.

We also cleaned all the surfaces in the kids room yesterday!
