Happy Birthday to artist, Aubrey Beardsley!

Aubrey Beardsley (1872–1898) was an English illustrator known for his bold, black-and-white drawings and dramatic, decorative style. Influenced by Japanese art and the Art Nouveau movement, his work often featured elegant figures, flowing lines, and unusual, sometimes controversial imagery. Beardsley became famous for his illustrations of Salome by Oscar Wilde. Although he died of tuberculosis at only 25 years old, his distinctive style had a lasting influence on illustration, graphic design, and Art Nouveau.

Happy Birthday, Andy Warhol!!!!! Yes, in this picture the top is Andy on his couch. The lower is a picture of me on the couch at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh!

Andy Warhol was an American artist and one of the most famous figures of the Pop Art movement. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he began his career as a commercial illustrator before becoming known for turning everyday objects and celebrities into bold, colorful works of art.

Warhol created iconic images of Campbell’s Soup cans, Coca-Cola bottles, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Elizabeth Taylor, often using silkscreen printing to repeat the same image in different colors. His work explored the connections between art, advertising, fame, consumer culture, and mass production.

In the 1960s, Warhol established his legendary New York studio, The Factory, which became a gathering place for artists, musicians, actors, writers, and other creative personalities. He also experimented with filmmaking, photography, music, and publishing.

Warhol once famously said, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” Today, his bright colors, repeated images, and fascination with celebrity culture make him one of the most recognizable and influential artists of the 20th century.
