I mix and hand-pour every batch using food-safe ingredients—local beeswax and food-grade mineral oil—and laser-engrave every tin right here in Prophetstown, IL.

Easy to apply, a little goes a long way to help protect your working blades from moisture and rust.

Thirty knives will keep a guy busy. 😂

Quick update from the Buttonhook Forge shop: the 30-knife order is keeping me moving, but there’s more in the works.

Some existing stock is getting fresh laser artwork, and I’m excited to put these designs on steel. The sandblasting setup is finished, too—check out the test piece for a look at what I’ve been trying out.

And then there are the crockpots… 👀 No, I’m not starting a cooking channel. You’ll have to stick around to see what those are for.

The next few weeks at Buttonhook Forge are going to be busy—and there’s a lot to look forward to.

A 30-knife order will be taking up most of my shop time, but that doesn’t mean the website is going quiet. Each week, I plan to release one or two knives from existing inventory with new, original laser artwork.

This is something I’ve wanted to offer for a long time, and I finally have the equipment and capability to do it properly. Each design will give an already proven working knife its own distinct character without changing what it was built for.

I’ve also added a new sandblasting setup, opening the door for Cerakoted Buttonhook knives in the coming months.

Then, after the first of the year, development begins on the Buttonhook Forge folder.

Thirty knives to build. New engraved releases along the way. Cerakote coming soon. A folder on the horizon.

The shop is full, the plans are moving, and I’m looking forward to showing you what comes next.

The Daly drop is officially LIVE.

Six fresh Dalys are finished, photographed, and up on the site.

The Daly is a compact, no-nonsense EDC built to work — small enough to carry easily, but stout enough to handle a whole lot more than its size suggests.

Each one is handmade here at Buttonhook Forge and comes ready to be put to use.

The Forge email crew got first crack at them. Now they’re open to everybody.

Apparently my buffer is a dual-purpose machine: handle polishing and surprise durability testing. 🤦‍♂️

The wheel caught the tip of this Daly and launched it straight into the concrete floor. That’ll get your attention.

The damage? The slightest bend at the very fine tip—something I can easily correct. An unplanned demonstration of the toughness of 80CrV2 and the heat treatment behind it.

I’d still prefer to keep future testing a little more controlled. 😂
