Here are pics from my trip to Provincetown last year, 2024 during Holly Folly. This year’s holiday celebration is from December 5-21, 2026 on the weekends. Later in December, First Light Provincetown and the First Annual Drone Show take place Dec. 26, 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026.

The Provincetown Office of Tourism also has lots of info, including about The Canteen
Restaurant and its Holiday Market.

The Canteen Restaurant hosts a festive holiday market on weekends, Nov. 28-Dec. 31, 2025 in a cozy area in back of the restaurant with local vendor booths, gas fire pits, warm beverages and seating. You can walk out onto the sand and take in great views of Provincetown Harbor.

Many LGBTQ+ holiday events, activities and performances are scheduled during Holly Folly. Shops and restaurants are open, though some are closed for the season. Also the inclined elevator cab from downtown up to the Pilgrim Monument is closed as well as the monument itself. However, there is an Annual Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025. The monument is adorned with long strands of lights for the holiday season. The Provincetown Lobster Pot Tree in Lopes Square downtown is set to be lit on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 this year.

The town sparkles with lights and decorations. It’s a fun, uncrowded Christmas getaway with easier parking, unique shops, great restaurants and beautiful galleries.

I visited the Nauset Lighthouse within the Cape Cod National Seashore during vacation this summer.  I got an inside view of this iconic lighthouse featured on
The Nauset Light Preservation Society has a free seasonal scheduled program for visitors (donations appreciated). Volunteers are dedicated to sharing the history of our iconic Cape Cod National seashore sites.  Big ocean views could be seen from the lighthouse.  Ascending a narrow spiral staircase visitors arrive near the top of the lighthouse and can peer up at the rotating beacon.
The lighthouse program runs until early October. See their instagram and website for the schedule

Here are some pictures from my trip to Provincetown last November.
Going there for Holly Folly was a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit.

and browsed in the shops and galleries.

Lots happening in Provincetown this summer as usual with celebrations, parades, entertainment, especially in June for Pride month. Day trips by ferry or car make for a fun filled day of shopping and beautiful ocean views. Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts celebrated the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution this past Saturday, April 19. Battle re-enactments, historical programs, a road race and lots of activities went on throughout the two towns. In Lexington, there was an afternoon parade through the downtown. Many activities were held all weekend in Lexington and Concord. More events are planned this semiquincentennial year throughout Massachusetts.

Pics from my Cape Cod vacation this past August. See the link in bio for my new Cape Cod page. It is an overview of Cape shopping along with Scenic Shopping towns to visit on the Cape and Islands. I spotted a White Mountain Puzzle of Cape Cod at Cuffy’s Boardwalk on Rt. 28 in West Dennis. Then it was out to Wellfleet Harbor for dinner at the Pearl, with time for browsing in Frying Pan Gallery, then ice cream at Mac’s On the Pier. Final picture is the Super Blue Moon at Nauset Beach. 😀🧩🛍️🎨🍽️🍦🌕

New bookstore on Charles St. In Boston, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe is open and just in time for holiday shopping! Their cafe serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and Sunday Afternoon Tea (schedule and reservations info on their website). Try to support indie bookstores this holiday.
