Your headlamp has blinded every hiking partner you've ever turned to talk to. They just never said anything.

That's the part nobody warns you about: it's not just glare on the trail, it's every time you look sideways at someone mid-conversation. Straplights mount to your pack straps instead of your head, so the beam stays locked on the ground ahead of you, not wherever your neck happens to turn.

Straplights mount to your shoulder straps instead of your skull. The beam stays locked on the trail ahead of your feet no matter which way you turn to check a switchback or talk to your hiking partner. No bounce, no blinding the person next to you when you glance over.

Still want a headlamp for reading a map up close. Fair, keep one in the pocket. But for actually moving down a dark trail, fixed beats swinging. Save this before your next night hike.
