🧽 SUNDAY RESET: When did you last swap your kitchen sponge? 👀

Many conventional sponges are made from plastic-based foam that doesn't break down. Next time yours needs replacing, try a plant-based swap:

🥥 Coconut scourers: made from coconut husk fiber, great for scrubbing pots
🧽 Compostable pop-up sponges: they start flat and puff up in water (so fun!)
🌿 Loofah sponges: zero plastic, grown not manufactured

When they're worn out, they can go in the compost instead of the trash.

Which one would you try first? 👇

🏺 MEET THE MAKER: Lupita @ Boho Creations

Meet Lupita, the hands behind the macramé creations on our shelves!

Handmade macrame items that will enhance any space in your house, from wall decor, plant hangers to coasters, and even earrings.

“I started doing macramé a couple years ago, and loved it since, each piece I create has a little bit of unique character in it”, Lupita said.

She loves making handmade items like macramé because it is a great hobby and helps her relax and create beautiful pieces.

When you buy from a local maker, you're supporting a neighbor and helping keep dollars right here in our community. 💚

Find Lupita's work at 213½ S. Union Ave, Tue–Sun 10–5.

Paper towels, meet your match. 🧽

Our Pueblo, Colorado Swedish Dishcloth is made from a cellulose + cotton blend, so it's super absorbent, dries fast, and can be composted when it's finally worn out.

How it works: it dries stiff, then softens the second it touches water. Wipe counters, soak up spills, dry dishes. Rinse, hang, repeat.

Bonus: it's a Pueblo souvenir you'll actually USE. (We have a Terra Vida design, too!) $7 in store.

Happy October, Pueblo! 🍂 We're kicking off the month with a Supplier Spotlight: SHŌR, the makers of our beeswax wraps.

📍 Where they're based: Grand Rapids, MN
🌿 What they make: Beeswax Wraps
💚 Why they're on our shelves: Beeswax wraps are used as an alternative to plastic wrap. The wraps are a staple in any kitchen, not only do they add beauty; they provide the satisfaction of ridding our shelves of another disposable product.

We don't stock just anything. Every supplier gets the label-reader treatment first. Come see (and feel!) their wraps in store, Tue–Sun 10–5.

Ingredient We Skip:

Phthalates (hiding in "fragrance") 🚫 Ever notice a label that just says "fragrance" or "parfum"?

That single word can legally hide dozens of unlisted chemicals — often phthalates, used to make scents last longer. Phthalates are classified as endocrine disruptors, meaning they can interfere with hormone function, and studies have linked exposure to reproductive health concerns.

We choose suppliers who tell us exactly what's in their scent — no mystery ingredients. Our Rustic Strength cleaning and body care refills are made without synthetic fragrance, and it's the standard we hold every scented product on our shelves to.

Community Saturday:

Meet Squirrel Bird Pottery 🎨

Every piece is hand-thrown right here in Pueblo by local potter Neely — which means no two are exactly alike, and each one carries a little bit of her hands in it.

We've got berry bowls, egg separators, garlic graters, worry worts you can tuck right in your pocket, a sugar bowl, and of course coffee mugs in gorgeous one-of-a-kind glazes.

Everything's dishwasher and microwave safe, so it's just as functional as it is beautiful. Come see in person this Saturday — that's really the best way to find your favorite. 🌿
