Steel City Thrift is 6 months old today!

We opened on February 5th, and somehow it has already been 6 months.

We’re still filling racks, learning every week, building up the kids section, working with local nonprofit partners, and working hard to keep Pueblo stocked with affordable secondhand finds.

Nothing crazy today. Just a quick thank you to everyone who has shopped, donated, shared a post, left a review, or told someone about us.

Someone asked what we mean by “recycle responsibly,” and it’s a great question 🩶

At Steel City Thrift, our goal is to keep good clothing moving. Items come into the store, get a chance to be shopped affordably, and anything that doesn’t sell is sent to our textile recycling partners.

From there, items can be sorted for reuse, sent to other thrift stores, turned into rags, or recycled into other materials.

It’s not perfect, but it gives clothing, shoes, and textiles another path instead of treating them like waste.
