Join us April 22nd at 6pm for a lively discussion with local author-educators Lauren W. Westerfield and Grant Maierhofer to celebrate their new books!

Westerfield’s latest book, "Woman House: Essays and Assemblages", which won the 2025 Juniper Prize for Creative Nonfiction, explores how pain and pleasure are passed down between generations of women.

Maierhofer’s book "SOCIETYSPECTACLE: the Eye of Don DeLillo" critically examines themes of sight and perception permeating DeLillo’s works. In doing so, he reveals why these works are influential, as well as what it means to read and how writers shape readers’ experiences.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Lauren W. Westerfield is author of Depth Control. Her essays and poetry have been published in FENCE, Seneca Review, Willow Springs, Denver Quarterly, Indiana Review, Ninth Letter, and elsewhere. Westerfield is a 2022 Idaho Commission on the Arts Literary Fellow. She teaches at Washington State University, where she serves as the editor-in-chief of Blood Orange Review.

Grant Maierhofer is the author of over ten books of fiction and nonfiction. He is the founding editor of Index Press, and a scholarly associate professor at Washington State University, where he is the faculty advisor for LandEscapes.

Books will be available for purchase by local bookseller Brused Books.
