Some of the specimens we have pinned at the Two Gold Moons insect pinning workshops 🦋✨
What is insect pinning?
First things first: no insects are harmed for these workshops. All specimens are responsibly sourced through butterfly conservatories, farms, or natural life cycles where insects have naturally passed. The goal is preservation, appreciation, and education through art ✨🦋
At our workshops, we learn the delicate process of insect pinning, which is a centuries old preservation technique where butterflies, moths, beetles and other specimens are carefully spread, positioned, and preserved for display
🖼️🌿🦋
You’ll learn how to:
✨ handle delicate specimens with care
✨ spread and position wings using pinning techniques
✨ learn basic insect anatomy + fun species facts
✨ create your own framed preserved specimen to take home
No experience needed 🖤
Just bring curiosity and a willingness to try something a little different 🖤
