Happy World Teachers’ Day!
Looking back on my life, some of the biggest influences I ever had were teachers.
I definitely wasn’t always the easiest kid to teach, and I’m sure there were plenty of days I tested their patience. But there were teachers who saw something in me before I really knew what I was capable of myself.
Some taught me things I still use today. Some pushed me when I needed pushed. Some held me accountable. And some simply believed in me at a time when that probably meant more than they ever realized.
As I’ve gotten older, become a dad, built businesses, coached kids, and experienced a whole lot of life, I’ve realized just how much impact a good teacher can have.
It isn’t only about math, reading, history, or what’s on the test.
Teachers help shape confidence. Work ethic. Character. Curiosity. They can change the direction of a kid’s entire life with a few words of encouragement at exactly the right time.
So today, thank you to the teachers who influenced me, the teachers who are helping raise and guide our kids today, and every teacher who continues showing up even on the hard days.
You may not always get to see the impact you make.
But trust me — years later, some of us still remember.
