I had a man call me at 7:30 this morning. Business hours are 10am-6pm, but I answered the call. He asked if we had an energy healer. I advised him that we have a Reiki Healer in on the weekends from 8-12.
His reply was, but today is Monday.
I said yes it is, but we don't do sessions during the week, only on the weekends.
Then he tells me a person wants to come for a session. She has MS. What can she expect.
I asked what he means? He said well, if she goes there in her wheelchair, you'll tell her what she wants to hear, right? That she'll be able to walk out, right? We need tangible results.
I said no, Reiki is not magic, so she won't come in for 1 session and just be able to walk out. That's not how it works. That's not how any healing modality works.
Then he said what if she comes in for some free sessions. I said that's not how business is done. But if she's looking to test it out to see if it's right for her, I do free reiki sessions at a healing center in QC, the second Saturday of every month. She can go there for a 10 minute session.
He said so it's all about the bottom dollar with you then? When you go to buy a car, you get to test drive it.
I said that's not an accurate analogy, and I advised where she can go to try it out for free.
You don't call the doctor's office and tell them you have some ailment and expect to get the first few treatments for free to try it out.
We have an initial reiki session, then determine how often sessions would be beneficial.
He just kept pushing for free full 60 minute sessions.
I told him to have a nice day and hope he finds what he's looking for.
Moral of the story... Don't try to bully or guilt a small business into giving you things for free.
Have a blessed day!!
