Another busy week of work back at Assumption University while we finish up our practice organ rebuild.

Looking back at 2023 - Hammond Castle Museum - Along with the dedicated volunteers and museum staff, we painted and refelted the racking and supports for the facade pipes with nice new red felt. The facade pipes and woodwork were both restored by a subcontractor. We then reinstalled all the components and saw the facades as they were originally built! Look at the last picture for a nice before-and-after view.

Looking back at 2023 - Hammond Castle Museum - Scaffolding was erected by the museum's rigging contactor in the Great Hall to support the restoration of the pipe organ facades on the two side walls and investigate some structural concerns in the room. We then removed all the facade pipes for restoration along with their racking and supports, giving an interesting view into the chambers behind.

Yesterday we were working on some console modifications for our project at St. Margaret’s church in Dorchester. The new piston layout requires new piston rails and we are also adding a few extra drawknobs.

Yesterday, we were happy to be in Glastonbury CT at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, setting up and tuning this lovely Noack organ from 1985.

Looking back at 2022 - Hammond Castle Museum - A time-lapse of the removal of some of the Great Division chests.

Looking back at 2022 - Hammond Castle Museum - Pipe trays were all full by the time we were finished packing up the Great Division. A fun fact about this building is that the access is so limited that each pipe must be carried around by hand! This resulted in a fire-brigade-style process to move all the pipes out of the division and into storage. Everyone is very thankful for the dedicated volunteers who helped with the disassembly process!
