Alysia Rogers (June 19, 1975) is an American actress. Alysia most memorable roles were 'Shanice' in "Boyz n the Hood" (1991), opposite Morris Chestnut and 'Damita' in Kid N Play's "Class Act" (1993 ). She was also in David Black's "Nobody but You" Music Video(1992).
Rogers was born and raised in Milledgeville, Georgia, as Alysia Michelle Rogers. Her parents are Robert Hendricks and Jackie Sue Raymonds.
Rogers took a long break from acting after having her daughter, Cieana Stinson.
“I was a single mother shortly after my last film and devoted all of me to figuring out this motherhood thing and trying to be the best mom I could be because she was my world. Now she’s a wonderful young college student and I feel it’s time to finish what I started years ago,” she told News Blaze.
After 20 years away from the industry, Rogers played in Beyond Merritt. Alysia played the lead character, Lynda Merritt. Beyond Merritt, a true story, reveals the struggles and triumphs of a single mother fighting for her life who grapples with drug addiction, hopelessness and loss. In 2023, she played Linda in Soul Ties.
That's not all, as far as Rogers is concerned, making her community a healthy and safe place is a task that must be accomplished. She often gives speeches and has discussions centered on gang violence in the hood by working with a Gang Violence Foundation.
