Part 2 is officially live, and let’s be real... absolutely EVERYBODY understood the assignment!

was next level, and our local vendors and businesses showed out to make sure these ladies had an unforgettable experience at shop.cohesion
Here is a breakdown of the flawless ex*****on:
🛍️ The Swag Bags: Loaded with custom discount cards from Pretty Defined and Diamond Detailing, alongside beautiful product samples from IMPERIALGLOW
🍪 The Treats: Busias XOXO completely outdid themselves! The immaculate detail on the custom cookies and “Buy Black, Spend Green” s’mores kits had everyone obsessed.
🪄 The Innovation: Shoutout to Larry Carter (LCBeard Oils) for bringing out the tap-to-pay wands! You slide your card right in, and voilà—tap to pay. Mind blown! 🤯
🧘‍♀️ The VIP Experience: The ladies got to unwind in the PAUSE VIP Lounge, curate their personal PAUSE Kits, and remind themselves that self-care isn’t selfish.
🎟️ The Raffle: Huge congrats to our winner! She walked in saying, “I never win anything,” and walked out with a major prize haul!

Class is officially in session! Last Friday, the phenomenal ladies of the Alpha Gamma Psi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. showed us exactly what cooperative economics looks like in action.
As part of their Wear Pink, Spend Green, Buy Black initiative, they kicked off their downtown business stroll right here at shop.cohesion ! It was an absolute honor to host them, share space, and speak to them about the heartbeat of entrepreneurship, and how vital it is for small businesses to be fully prepared for the support when it comes.
The community showed out! Massive shoutout to the fellow businesses inside Opulence Loung for providing customized discounted services and resources, and to IMPERIALGLOW for packing their custom reusable tote bags with amazing product samples. 🛍️
📍 Fun Fact: Inside their bags was a map I created featuring 32 Black-owned businesses right here in downtown Racine (and I might still be missing some!).
I am still so incredibly grateful and speechless over the beautiful gift they left me with. Thank you, ladies, for walking the walk! And I promise I WONT LILL THE IVY!!! Stay tuned for Part 2!

Some legacies are built on intention. For more than a century, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,Inc®️ has poured into Black communities through service and economic empowerment, with a real commitment to seeing Black-owned businesses thrive.This week the Alpha Gamma Psi Omega Chapter is carrying that legacy into downtown Racine with their Black Business Stroll this Friday, June 26. A whole evening of walking the district, meeting owners, and spending where dollars build generational wealth.

I have to be honest about something. As I built the map for this stroll, I kept finding business after business, so many of them Black-owned and right in our downtown, some that have never landed on anyone’s list or radar. What started as a request from the chapter became something bigger. My hope is that this map and the Impact List portal are not a one-time handout but a living resource our community reaches for again and again, long after Friday.
