One of the biggest reasons I wanted Maxilyn House to be more than just a shop was because I think we all need more reasons to actually DO things together.
As adults, it’s so easy for life to become work, errands, kids, appointments, chores, repeat. We tell our friends we need to get together soon. We say we need to do something for ourselves. And then another week goes by.
I wanted to create a place that makes doing that a little easier.
A place where you can text your friend, “Want to go make something?” and the plan is already made.
Where you can come by yourself and spend a few hours doing something creative just because you want to.
Where you can put your phone down, get out of your own head for a little while, laugh, talk, make something with your hands and leave with something you’re proud of.
THAT is the part of Maxilyn House I really want to grow.
And if I’m being transparent, it’s also the part we’ve been struggling with lately. Workshops and Creative Table sessions need people around the table to keep them going.
So I’m going to keep trying, because I really believe we need spaces like this 🖤
