Join us streetside in Downtown Raleigh or watch from home on ABC11. 82nd Annual Event. Presented by Shop Local Raleigh, GRMA, ABC11

The Greater Raleigh Merchants Association (GRMA) announces the 79th ABC11 Raleigh Christmas parade by Shop Local Raleigh to be held on November 18, 2023 in Downtown Raleigh! The parade kicks off at 9:30 AM and lasts approximately 2 hours. Join us street-side or watch from home with live coverage on ABC11. Parade Route:
- Begins on Hillsborough Street at St. Mary’s Street
- Proceeds to the State Capitol
- Turns right onto Salisbury St.
- Turns left onto Morgan St.
- Turns right onto Fayetteville St. and continues to Lenoir Street where it disbands

The Raleigh Christmas Parade has been a beloved community event since it began in 1939. Shortly after its inception, the parade was put on hiatus during WWII before resuming in 1945. The Greater Raleigh Merchants Association has had the honor of organizing the Raleigh Christmas Parade since 1944! This annual tradition occurs on the Saturday before Thanksgiving serving as a gift to the community from the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association and marking the official start of the holiday shopping season. The Raleigh Christmas parade is the largest parade between Atlanta and Washington DC. Over 250,000 will watch the parade live from home and over 80,000 will attend the parade in person!
