Early in her career, Betsy completed numerous residential and commercial projects in New York City and Long Island's East End. Since opening her firm in Raleigh, Betsy's projects have ranged from in-town dwellings, law offices, and veterinary clinics, to beachfront homes in Beaufort and Figure Eight Island. My style has evolved in my 20 years designing interiors. Being a native of Boston has given me a respect for classic, timeless style and a sense of tradition. I am known for the integration of architecture and interior design and have a reputation for richly textured rooms. Serene could be the overriding mood of my design philosophy. A house does not have to have only one style. I love to create contrast by taking something old and introducing contemporary elements. Artwork is always evident in my practice - lithographs, watercolors, and French reliefs combined with a mix of 20th Century furniture and illuminated by modern lighting. I always unify space with color, achieving a cohesive flow throughout the home. I use a pallette rich in quiet creams, beiges and soft grays, and accented with pale blues, apricots, and honey leather. I strive to create an ambiance of calm and peace.
