A little overnight brush care goes a long way 🖌️

Tusc & Pine Walnut Clove Oil offers a simple, solvent-free way to keep oil painting brushes soft between sessions.

Wipe away the extra paint, then place the brush at an incline so only the bristles rest in a small amount of oil overnight. By the next session, they’re conditioned and ready to keep painting.

Sea glass has that quiet little glow 🌊🎨

Michaela is matching green and teal sea glass with SoHo Watercolors, using small adjustments to get each shade closer to that worn-by-the-water look.

For the brighter green, she starts with Brilliant Yellow and Fluorescent Blue, then cools it down with a touch of Violet. For the teal piece, Azurite Blue gets just enough Fluorescent Yellow to bring out that clear coastal color without pushing it too green.

Omni Gray has a pretty cool origin story 🩶

Once a year, MG Art Products cleans the air filtration system used during Tusc & Pine pigment mixing. The captured pigment dust is too pretty to waste, so it gets recycled into one limited edition batch of Omni Gray.

This year’s version is opaque, beautifully neutral, and impossible to recreate. When this batch is gone, it’s gone.

Lemon shadows have a little secret 🍋🎨

In this Michaela Matches, Cadmium Yellow Light gives her the perfect starting point for the lemon skin, but the real lesson happens in the shadow.

Adding black to yellow can turn things green real fast, and lemons are simply not asking for that. Michaela mixes a small bit of purple instead, then blends it into the yellow for a warmer, more natural shadow that still belongs on the fruit.

For the highlight, she skips plain white and brings in Yellow Citron with Mixing White for a softer lift that blends back into the base color beautifully.

Some places just make you want to stay awhile ☕️🎨

We visited our friends at and filled our New York Central Mixed Media Journals with warm little scenes from the room.

The 108 lb heavyweight paper handled each layer beautifully, from watercolor washes and colored pencil shading to ink details and paint pen highlights. It’s the kind of journal that gives you space to let the page evolve without rushing it.

Cyanotype blue was already doing plenty, so we gave it a little company ✨💙

In this mixed-media demo, we’re adding painted details, watercolor washes, and touches of gold leaf to bring more depth into the print. The gold catches beautifully against the indigo, while the watercolor adds movement without covering up that classic cyanotype feel.

It’s a fun way to let the print keep evolving after the first reveal.
