Mountainview FOL Meeting Minutes and Highlights 💡:

The Mountainview Friends of the Library met today as scheduled, July 24th from approximately 0930-1130. 🧡

We set the next meeting for Saturday, September 19th @ 0930. All are invited. 🍂

We hope to showcase the Local Spotlight Project from the very generous Merc Boyer Grant. Stay tuned for more information. We discussed we are in need of someone to do the lettering for the sign being made by local sawyers and wood workers. 🪧🔦🪶

The FOL discussed the successes of the summer programs. The Reptile Lady is scheduled for Tuesday, July 28th @ 2pm. 🐍🦎🐊

Also Tuesday, July 28th @ 6pm is the Packwood FOL Meeting. 🛖

The Lewis County Permitting meetings on August 5th and 12th need a minimum of 10 registered participants otherwise it will be canceled. So if you want to attend please sign up in advance!‼️🌲‼️

We discussed book sales, fall fundraising, and current balances as well as the need to set up Venmo, Zelle, and dedicated email. 💲

The Levy Lid Lift on November's ballot is crucial to keep our libraries staffed. We discussed what it would look like (not good) in the event the levy is not voted in. More information to come shortly. ‼️💲‼️

Our November meeting will be the release of our annual fall fundraiser basket raffle. 🧺

FOL Meeting Minutes and highlights:

The FOL met Saturday May 16th from ~0930-11am at our bimonthly meeting.

We set the next meeting to July 24th at 0930. All attendees must have an Extended Access card and may get one at the library during their new business hours which are Tuesday- Friday 11am-5pm.

We hope to have an unveiling of our Local Spotlight Project and Special Community Offering - Stay tuned for more information!

The FOL voted to approve funding to the Library Programs of Cowboy Buck and Mister Twister for a grand total of $820.
Cowboy Buck will be at the Lavender Festival July 11th and Mister Twister at the Library on July 14th.

Special thanks to the Methodist Church and Livable Packwood for their generous donations and support of Teen Nights at the Mountainview Library where 10-20 local teens gather weekly for games, food, and socials.

Library staffing down to 3 split between Packwood and Mountainview. Please be patient if occasional closures/adjusted hours are necessary. Packwood now open 2 days a week, Tuesday and Saturday.

Membership Perk Reminder:
Individual $10 annual (March -March) 1 free book/ movie monthly from our used book store inside the library. Family members get 2/ month. Discussed that business members need to have recognition with a posting/plaque at the library and for their own display.

For everyone who stopped in today and showed your Library and your Friends the support! Not only does it mean a lot to us, but also those who benefit from our community programs!
Wasn't able to get many pictures, but while we were there- we refreshed our whole book store!

Thanks to generous donations, we have a WHOLE section of amazing DVDs and new books!
Our bookstore is the most consistent source of fundraising for programs put on in partnership with our Library- where the staff is AMAZING 🧡

ALL books and DVDs are $1.00 each or FILL a canvas bag of books for $20! Don't want a canvas bag?- Fill your own standard sized grocery bag for $10! Does not apply to DVDs. 🤓

Love what we do? JOIN US!!! Annual Memberships are $10 per person, $20 per family, or $50 for business. We are always welcoming people to join our board - or volunteer to help out in any way you can!l! Have ideas? We want to hear them 🤗
