Patchwork Phoenix has been in business for fourteen years on Historic First Street in Raton.

We reopened in January after being temporarily closed because of illness. And we're glad to be here!

Our hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Thursday: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Today is Crochet Wednesday. Bring your project to work on, or learn to crochet a doubled sc potholder like the one Jana Floersheim made.

This Sunday, July 12, 1:30 - 4:30 PM, is the Beginning Quilting class. It will continue on July 19. Students will learn how to learn how the half-square triangle is used to make a variety of quilt blocks, the importance of a 1/4" seam, the use of color and contrast to create stunning quilts, proper pressing to provide crisp seams, and so much more. The class will continue and complete on Sunday, July 19, 1:30 - 4:30 PM. $50.00 fee for both classes.

A sewing machine will be provided if one is needed, otherwise, bring your own sewing machine in good working order, with good quality neutral-colored thread (Aurifil 50 is recommended) and needle, . Cutting mats are provided but students are asked to bring or purchase a 24 x 6 1/2" ruler. A 6 1/2" square is recommended. but not required. All supplies purchased at Patchwork Phoenix for the class are 20% off.

Family from out of state is arriving today so Patchwork Phoenix will be closed today, July 2 until Monday, July 6. Hope everyone will have a fun and safe 4th!

Beginning Quilting Class will include techniques for making a rail fence quilt, including an altered rail fence pattern shown here. Additionally, the half-square triangle will be explored and so many of the possible blocks from that one block.
